Homeline load centers are designed for residential and industrial use to protect electrical systems, equipment and people. This Surgebreaker is a secondary surge arrestor for Homeline load centers. It is designed to protect electrical service and major household appliances, excluding electronic devices. Designed for 3 wire 120/240 VAC single phase systems. Surgebreaker has a NEMA 1 indoor rating. This secondary surge protector is rated at 5 kA and has a SCCR of 22.5 kA. It has a plug on design and requires two pole positions. The LED indicator indicates operational status. The HOM Surgebreaker is UL Listed.

This was an easy install in a older Homeline panel. I just moved some of the top breakers to get it as close to the inbound lines as possible. It does have a smaller 25kA rating which I assume is a limit of the neutral pig wire connection vs the newer style for clamp on neutral which doubles the rating to 50kA but those only work on HOM Plug-on Neutral panels which are newer.

My electrician told me to buy these. First time they were about $105. I had them sent to the wrong location by mistake so I reordered them to my current location and would return the others for credit when I was back at that other location. When I went to reorder, the price had dropped about $30. I needed three so my mistake worked out to my advantage. Product seem to do what it needs to do and since I have not had any surges that I am aware of, the lights on these units are still green indicating they are protecting from surges.

Easy install and should really help out here in west Texas where we get insane lightning at times. Our previous electric company installed an surge suppressor at each electric meter but not our current one. Figured it would be wise to add this.

It’s difficult to say how well this works, but it was pretty easy to install. I will say that after installation, I’ve had issues with my pressure washer tripping a GFCI outlet on a different circuit. I haven’t removed it to check if it is the cause, but it is a possible issue.

I installed this in my main panel. Easy peeasy!! Now my whole home has a high lever of surge protection. I had a surge about a month ago that fried my microwave main board. I should have gotten this sooner!!

Unit was installed in my electrical box to have protection from power surges. Haven't had the opportunity to access the product yet as there hasn't been any power interruptions.

This does "NOT" fit square D QO panels. It is for homeline HO panels.
