I bought it because of the reviews versus other models. The obvious flaw isn't that there's not enough room in the box for wires (other reviews say it's cramped), it's because of the positioning of the breaker inside the box (upper left) that makes it a pain to run the wires to the top connections...especially because the #&@* door gets in the way! It's not unbearable, but it will have you cussing at the manufacturer for not putting it in the middle (or at least lower) in the box or not letting you remove the door (at least I didn't see a way). Once you get everything connected, you still have ample room inside the box. I feel sorry for anyone running # 6 gauge though (I used # 8). It's nice that this box has a smaller footprint, but I could've lived with it if they made it a couple inches bigger though. I guess once you are finally done with installing it, the only thing that really matters is that it doesn't fail, so I'm still happy with my decision on this over the poorly rated stuff at HD.Update 7/15/17 - No issues what-so-ever after nearly 2 months. It is a great unit. I feel I was overly critical now after adding additional (unrelated) wiring on (and under) my deck. It's always a pain when you're working in small spaces.Update: Fired up my hot tub a few days ago. Everything working perfectly, so no issues with this box. I'm bumping up to 5 stars because I believe it's probably the best thing out there for the price. Making the connections initially were a bit of a pain due to the door getting in the way, but not a big deal now that I have it in.

Purchased this for installation of a new hot tub. No issues whatsoever and it does the job well.

Evidently the Sqaure D is harder to use, according to my electrician. I liked the price and it definitely functions. I mean it is a hot tub breaker so either it works or doesn't. The electrician also said it doesn't look as good as other brands. To me it is about function not esthetics. I am very pleased with my purchase and now we can use our hot tub after moving in.

No UL certification, but it does not affect the use, the quality is very good

Nice compact Spa panel. I attached mine to a concrete block wall "in sight of the spa and more than 5 feet away" as required. Given the distance involved I used #6 wire, and to make it easier to pull I used 1" conduit. As you can see in the step by step photos, if you plan out the install it is pretty easy to wire it up even with #6 wire.[Edit: I did remove the door -- it's only held it by "bumps in a slot" so you can pry it out and put it back w/o problems]First thing I discovered is that to use the "right side" entry with 1" conduit, you will want to remove the lowest of the four ground lug screws, or you will not be able to tighten the nut on the conduit connector. This is not a problem as you should only have to use 2 of the four ground attachment points anyway.I removed the breaker to wire up the feed wires from my main panel inside the house. First I hooked up the neutral, electing a somewhat roundabout way of getting to the ground terminals, but this is to allow extra wire "just in case" and also to be able to stay out of the way of the planned route of the wires from the spa.2nd was then to wire up the rest of the feed wires, also being sure to stay out of the way of the planned route of the spa wires. Then reinstall the breaker (3rd photo). Note I never remove the "pigtail" from it's pre-wired connection to the neutral bar. This way you can't put it back to the wrong bar, and it help you keep track of the breaker when you remove it!4th step, the ground wire from the spa is connected to the neutral bar, nice and easy since the main feed wires are way out of the way. Finally all the spa wires are hooked up. I kept the red feeding the red and the black feeding the black, though it probably doesn't matter -- I'd just as soon know that the red wire in the main panel is the same side of the 220 as the red out by the spa.Reinstall the "face plate" and you're good to go!I was pleased that my spa had a "GFCI test" where it intentionally creates a ground fault and wants to see it's power go off as the GFCI trips. Very nice confidence booster to see that happen -- this tests your wiring (to a certain extent) unlike just the test of the breaker you get by pushing the test button on the breaker itself. All been in service for over a month now without a single issue.

very good panel works great, great price.I am now doing an update on this panel I have had it for 2 years now have not had 1 issue with it works exactly as it is intended for..the hot tub I have now has a feature to test the breaker and the test tripped the breaker immediately the tech said it worked perfect. I am in canada had an electrician install it he never questioned anything on it said it is exactly what I need for the hottub...highly recommend this panel for your hot tub ...

My wife was amazing enough to buy me a hot tub so it fell to me to do the electrical and deck rebuild. I smashed it out and end product is good. Hot tub not arrived yet so install not complete but waiting patiently to hook it up and marinate in the tub.

This replaced my 25 year old 40 Amp hot tub breaker that quit. Wasn't sure if ordering this from Amazon was the way to go but was pleased I did it! I looked into just replacing the breaker since I already had a breaker box but this was much more economical. Installed in February 2021 and tripped today but will not turn back on! The product information says it has a lifetime warranty on the GFCI mechanism which is what has broken, Amazon says the product support window is closed! The mechanism is not clicking to activate and no power is going to hot tub. Need this replaced by manufacturer Square D, would appreciate contact from someone to have this replaced ASAP.
