The rack that came with my canner rusted over time.. I felt uncomfortable using it when canning food.. I got this stainless steel rack which should not rust.. Perfect fit for the enameled steel hot water bath canners..

It works well enough, and does what it's supposed to do. I could not give it 5 stars because the handles are a little too loose so once you place the jars on the basket and lower it into the boiling water, one or both handles will fall inwards becoming partially submerged in the boiling water. It doesn't affect the handles any, but you have to get some tongs to lift the handle out of the water and let them cool down for a few seconds so that you don't burn your fingers when lifting the basket out of the water.

My old hot water bath canner did not have a functional rack in it so I decided to buy this product to replace it. Absolutely love this rack and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

I like the bend where it can be rested on the edge of the pot and it fits my water canned perfectly. I can fit 8 pints vs only 6 in my old one that ended up rusting. Happy with this purchase.

I started canning using my mother's canning supplies a few years ago. She put up pints and quarts, but had only an insert that was good for larger jars. Not sure how she made it work for pints still. I've been canning half pints and pints. I've been making due and using an insert that just doesn't hold but a few jars at a time. This is perfect. It holds the smaller jars.
