I had a check engine light for 2 years on my 2005 Toyota matrix. A shop told me that I needed to change the evap canister, I priced it out at over 200 if I bought myself. I called BS and checked the codes myself, to me they led to the purge valve, and this thing sits out in the open and makes sense that it would die from salt spray. Replaced it and have not had a problem since. Didn't even remove the old one as the bolts were very bad, connected the wires and strapped this one in. Boom
