The part comes with a black coating for shelf life. Simply take a small bit of acetone on a paper towel and it comes off in seconds. Don’t be fooled by other peoples bad review because of their inexperience. Anyways the car runs perfectly now with no hesitation. I also replaced the distributor cap and spark plugs. 5 stars and would buy again.

Don't buy this product. I made it work but I had to sand off the paint from the metal contact as they painted everything. The customer should not have to do this.

I purchased this for my 1996 Tacoma (3RZ). The local toyota dealer wanted $60? For the cap, and like $13-15 for the rotor. Sadly this was made in Mexico, and isn’t the same quality. The cap I purchased from Standard was made in Japan, and was only $20.If I were doing this again, I would buy the Japanese made Standard cap here on Amazon, and purchased the rotor from the local Toyota dealer.It did include hardware, which was nice because one of mine snapped.

Dont buy. Didn't work in my 97 corolla. Connector was painted over and vehicle wouldn't start. Had to reinstall old part.
