I recently got the Motion Zeus Standard 62" Wooden Takedown Recurve Bow, and it’s been fantastic for both training and casual practice. As a beginner, I appreciate how easy it is to assemble and handle. The wooden design gives it a classic look, but it’s also lightweight, making it comfortable to use for extended sessions. The takedown feature is perfect for transport and storage. This bow provides a smooth draw and accurate shots, which has been great for building my skills and confidence. Whether for youth or adults, it’s an excellent choice for anyone starting in archery or even those with more experience. Highly recommend it for its quality and affordability!

Got this bow to use as loaner equipment for our medieval recreation and archery group. This bow is definitely nice and sturdy and great quality. I have quite a few bows myself and in comparison, this bow is not top of the line, but it is pretty great for the price. This bow provides a smooth draw and accurate shots. The wooden design gives it a classic look, but it’s also lightweight and comfortable to use for beginners and for extended sessions. This bow is super easy to assemble if you are familiar with how it's done. If you are just getting started with archery, then it would be a good idea to look up some assembly videos. Overall, this bow is pretty wonderful for what you pay and I would definitely recommend it.

To begin with, this is a decent bow. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, but it is advertised for beginners and if it is for a beginner, then it should come with better instructions. All the instructions my piece came with was on the limb, A and B with the poundage written on it. I wonder how a beginner would know what to do with that information. It doesn’t have anything else, no warnings or caution, I mean it is a sporting good but it is still dangerous, what if someone strings it up and dry fires it.Mcdonald’s lost a court battle for not having warnings that their chicken nuggets are hot products but a bow is shipped with A and B, handwritten A and B and nothing else. I will be getting a sticker and stick it on the bottom one in case the ink ever goes away. There were cosmetic issues, like scratches, dirt or wood particles stuck in the screws of the riser, and screwing in the stems is not as smooth as I would like it to be. So, I ran a cotton swab to be sure before I did anything too crazy, cotton was fine, except it did snag at the spot the limb connects.I strung it up and drew it to hear for cracks or anything, there wasn’t anything.Outside of those complaints, it is good bow for a beginner who knows what they are doing.

Motion Zeus crafted their 62-in Takedown Recurve Bow in style and functionality. It's a standard 3-piece bow system that uses a notched riser (the central part with grip and shelf) to receive two bow limbs. The bow is laminated wood and fiberglass, and is rather striking visually. It weighs about 3 pounds strung and is rather well balanced and easy to heft. The two bow limbs are not distinguishable from each other, and both have a narrow tip end. There is hand-written script noting an "A" and "B" limb. I'm more familiar with one limb end being slightly larger and having the draw weight label as the bottom one you'd typically start stringing from. The string is nice, with waxed 16-strand Dacron. The serving (thicker part of the string in the middle) is well-wound, but strangely missing is a nocking point. You can get these and a nocking point pliers elsewhere or just buy another bow string. The included arrow rest is a throwaway, but you can probably get a few arrows downrange before determining if you need to get another one. Or if shooting from the shelf is more your style, you can do that too.I think as this is sold as a beginner bow, there are things prominently missing that should be there. First and foremost are instructions of how to assemble and string the bow. Second, it really needs a bow stringer as most will struggle to string the bow without it. Third, small things like a nock point and a better arrow rest would really make this beginner bow set shine.Overall, I still highly recommend Motion Zeus' Takedown bow!

I used to teach archery at a middle school and a summer camp. I've recently moved and there's a great archery park nearby, but with only some arrows and a summer camp relic, I decided it was time for a new bow. I was looking at some name brands like Bear, but their offering cost twice as much as the Motion Zeus. Since I'm just using it for a bit of target practice every now and then, I figured it was worth a shot. I haven't been disappointed. The build quality is solid and the riser grip feels nice in my hand. The accessory attachment points are nice but I don't really use them. Perhaps in the future I will. Since I'm only just getting back into the swing of things, my groupings aren't great, but I'm certain that's all user error and the bow is shooting true. I'm excited to keep using the bow and improving in the future!
