I've been replacing those old tulip shaped pressure-fit doorknobs in my sixties rancher. You know that all new replacement passage and locksets are 1/8th inch larger around than the holes bored in 1960's doors? What's a girl to do when she doesn't want to ruin original birch doors that are in great condition and that have just been stripped and pickled? This Shur-Form round file was recommended by a friend with a lot of experience in hardware stores and in home repair. It's fantastic! The round shape conforms to the opening and lets you evenly take off just enough around the entire opening to fit in the new door knob hardware. Unlike a power tool that can all too easily take off too much in the blink of an eye. It works easily, almost effortlessly, on the push and the pull, and retains it's sharpness. It has the function of a grater more than a typical file, if you know what I mean. It's also handy for numberless other general filing applications around the house where you need to remove material from an internal space. Lightweight and stong, it's a very impressive product.

This is a very good tool, but it has its limitations. To know those limitations are the key. The tool helps quite a bit with wood scupturing.Unfortunately the fenestrations fill quickly and become clogged and no longer willwood be removed as intended. The rasp can be disassembled readily but dependenton the amount of impacted wood filings, the particles of wood can be difficult to disengage.Forceful attempts on wood removal within the cylinder can lead to breakage. The metal cylinder isrelatively thin to allow some bending which aids any contouring that is desired and a tradeoff in its usage. The tool is a great rasp but remember it has its limitations.

I had one before and was looking for another because the old one was just worn out and split. I think these are great to use on drywall for enlarging and shaping quickly and smoothly.

I had one of these in my old workshop which, along with the workshop, is no more. I added this one and I am pleased with it. The end hook is a new feature, and is well implemented in this design. As long as the handle does not break, I'll be wearing out blades with this one.

Good for softer woods...i did not find it worked great for hard woods.

My old one finally broke after 30 years so I bought this one. They have improved on the old model considerably and I use this to do the rough wood removal before using finer files. Don't expect to use this for fine work; it basically gouges away the wood, but if you need to remove a lot of material before beginning the smoothing process, this is the tool.

The item was only shrink wrapped and was bent when it arrived it was useless because it was so badly bent and found not be straightened . Bought one off of eBay was packaged correctly and used it for the job. As far as the product it works like it should.

This is a very good tool for hollowing out concave curves: it is sharp, well balanced and very effective on soft wood. I can clog quite easily, but if you stop and shake out the shavings frequently, you will save yourself the trouble of dismantling it and cleaning it out that way. Nevertheless, you can avoid the fact that it will clog without regular attention. It is unlike other surforms in that there is no frame upon which the blade fits: the blade itself forms the frame, but it doesn't feel fragile, although it can be dented, no doubt, or even broken if used improperly. Having said that, it is not a tool that requires great expertise to use. For what it does, it does it well, hollowing out curves, holes and such like very effectively and so far, I can find little to criticise except cost, but you can look around for best price.

Me ha servido bastante para la escultura , desbastando yeso y pasta automotriz es muy útil para agrandar perforaciones o perfeccionar ángulos curvos reducidos
