read tons of the reviews, had reservations, but bought this anyway... Glad I did. It worked great, put it directly over the fire (not *IN* the fire, rather on top of a cooking grate, still surrounded by flame) and boy did it perc... and boy did it blacken... knew I'd ruined it on the first time out... washed it off (camp wash - inside only) and it continued to perform flawlessly... when we got home, I decided I ought to try to wash it completely (mostly to assess the damage) and discovered it was still perfect under all that soot... I was/am amazed. - some complain the internals are kinda wimpy... and I suppose they are, but I'm not planning on using these things to play racquetball... they hold coffee grounds (remember to use COARSE ground) while water boils through... for the purpose, they work great... glad I bought it... recommend it to!

To my surprise, the original item received was defective. Didn't realized it until I brewed some stovetop coffee to try it out. At first, I thought the coffee overfilled... But it did not. I realized it was leaking thru the bottom half of the spout. The craftsmanship of this coffee pot was not done properly so, my coffee continued to slowly leak.So, I immediately ordered a replacement thru Amazon, thinking not a big deal.However, when I received my 2nd replacement I made sure to inspect the spout. I noticed this one was worse than the first one (the first one wasn't noticeable until the coffee leaked). It looked cracked.So, I reached out to the Transport company directly via email. After a few email exchanges and 2 days later, I received a beautiful replacement set (3rd one) and this one was perfect!! Couldn't be happier! The company's representative listened and fixed the issue ensuring that what was sent out this time, was not defective, which I appreciated very much.Overall, the matching mugs and the rest of the pot are very beautiful. It's exactly what I wanted!Thank you to the vendor, Transport, for helping me. Amazon replacement was easy too, but kept getting a defective ones from the warehouse.

This thing is so retro and practical! I love a good coffee and this pot make s good coffee. The reviews that say the latch that holds the lid is thin and weak.... that's true. But I bought the pot with 4 matching cups on sale for the same price as just the pot. If the latch that holds the lid falls off, I'll remove the latch and I'll still have the lid. I've used 2 different types of coffee grounds and the grounds go through only a little but I have a tea strainer that sits right on top of my cup and I use it and it catches any grounds that are loose.

We use this when we travel because we can make coffee on out gas burner so no electric needed. Coffee brewed this way is quite good and beats paying $ for gas station coffee. I've been happy with the quality except the lid hinge is cheaply made like it was an after thought. after the coffee is made you need to pour it into a thermos or insulated carafe because in 20 minutes it will cool off substantially. Because it boils the water to perculate it is extremely hot when you first turn off the burner. I get a 34 oz yeti filled from one session.

It is pretty...other than that, flimsy as hell. The guts float they are made of such flimsy material. Plus they are bent and wobbley. I know you get what you pay for but I did pay more that 50 cent. Very disappointed. Do not recommend.

The pot was of good quality and in great shape, but the percolator insert seemed like it was an after market addon. Thin, flimsy, and not the correct size for it, it looked like it wouldn't last.I tried it once and it did sort of worked, but the results were not even close to my expectations.Going back because the percolator is what I wanted.
