The build seems very cheap as it started to fall apart almost immediately. The bowl guard for the beaters was very flimsy and was wobbly right away before falling off soon after. When beating something really thin it's not too bad, but I wasn't able to make it past some very soft peaks on my meringue before it became too thick for the beaters to handle and the cheap plastic gears started slipping. I can't imagine these lasting too many uses, even with a relatively small load it starts to fail, if you were to try to beat more than an egg white or two I'm not sure it would do the job before falling apart.

I've wanted a real egg beater for some time, but when I got this item, I found it hard to turn and steady the item to use it. It's not like the heavy duty egg beaters of 50 years ago. I think maybe it's just that I'm much older now and don't have the stamina to use it.

Nice and light. Only negative for me was the side held handle which tended to make one have to grip harder (This hurting my hand) than when using a top placed handle.Any rotary beater with side handle would be the same.

I bought this just to scramble eggs. Having to make meringue one day, and not wanting to dirty my electric mixer, I stuck it into the egg whites and boom, they were stiff peaks with minimal effort and far quicker (and far less messier) than had I used the electric mixer. A fine product.

Do not get this for anything other than beating eggs. The gearing mechanism was slipping and stripping out. Extremely hard to use for light weight pancake batter or brownies.

I really like the whisk like beaters. The beaters are detachable for easy cleaning. Not sure if they can be submersed in water or put in the dishwasher. I usually clean them off right after I use the egg beater. The handle is easy to hold. Mostly use it to beat eggs.

We have scrambled eggs most mornings and being tired of using a fork, I remember as a child the metal egg beater my mom had and how quickly it did the job. We saw this one on Amazon and ordered it. I was Totally disappointed with this item. It broke after only a couple of spins. Not surprised when seeing it was practically all plastic.

I purchased this egg beater as a replacement for an older one and I am not impressed. This egg beater can't handle any liquid that is too dense. I will work for a couple of eggs but when I tried to use it to beat 5 eggs I discovered the plastic gears inside were skipping. I would only recommend this for very light use and I don't think it will last very long as the gears won't be able to handle much stress. There are better options out there and I would consider manual egg beaters with a full metal construction.On the plus side, it's easy to disassemble the unit for cleaning and it can be stored in two pieces. Other than that,not much positive going on here...

Update : was in the garbage the week after she tried it. Super cheap, is not able to roll without having intense consideration for the size of the gears you're about to turn. If your hand is too strong, BAM, transmission busted. If your hand is too weak, BOOM, doesn't turn at all. Piece of junkOld review:For my little baker (4 years old) this is absolutely perfect. Easy to use, lightweight, seems robust. She'll be able to make pancakes and muffin mixes (before there's too much flour), FINALLY!
