I ordered the drywall lift to do a remodeling job on my enclosed back porch and this thing was a life saver very easy to put together and use I'm not a professional carpenter and had never used one before but it's well worth the money it is good quality and works flawlessly I wouldn't do another ceiling job without it

When I first got this I was all excited to assemble it. I had a couple problems.Putting it together which looked easy by the instructions. I had some troublewith the final completion. Gave up, and waited until the next day. It was easier the next day.I guess I was just getting more and more frustrated.I ordered this, to begin the drywall in a bathroom project in the basement. The bath is only 5 foot wide and 13 feet long. I thought I would had to disassemble it to get it in the room and out. But, it fit right in. The way the tripod wheels can be unlocked, folded in, to get a thinner width it made it right through the doorway. Worked perfect for me since.

The welds broke so I took it to work to a welder to repair it. Other than that, it worked great!!

This item is a piece of junk1) Assembly instructions are very poor.2) It is a 16' drywall lift and after assembly and without the drywall deck installed it would only raise up to about 8 1/2' because the steel cable was too short. Don't be fooled. the factory installed cable looks to be about 3/16 to a 1/4 inch in size but after I replace the cable with American 1/8 steel cable I found the factory installed cable to have a paper filler inside if it making it look stronger. 1/4" cable was too large for the factory installed pulleys so I used 1/8" cable instead3) I replace the cable, installed the drywall deck and tried to raise the lift up, it was a great deal of effort. a) the cable is routed in such a fashion that it does a hard 180 degree's on the tubing edge. Effectively sawing the tubing while cranking up. B) With no drywall deck installed I could only raise the lift up to about 12' which was fine because I have 12' ceilings. C) Install the drywall deck onto the tubing and it was nearly impossible to raise the lift up, do to just the deck weight alone, add on a sheet of 4' x 8' x 5/8 drywall and it was a fight and nearly impossible to raise the deck up ,to 12'. This lift will absolutely not raise up to 16' 2) The tubing was binding up inside each other so I grease the tubing up, it didn't help much. 3) The cable routing inside the tubing was place in such a fashion that it did a very hard 180 degree turn on the edge of the tubing, so when I tried to raise the lift up the cable was effectively sawing the tubing edge. I welded on an additional pulley wheel to try to keep the cable off the edge of the tubing. But to to the location of the factory installed pully, I was limited on the area placement of this pully to be fully functional.4) Place the drywall deck on the lift and it was still almost impossible to raise up the telescoping poles. And there was no drywall on the deck at this time, and it was still a great deal of effort.5) Place a sheet of 4' x 8' x 5/8 drywall on the deck and good luck. It was almost impossible to raise the deck up to 8'. It took a great deal of effort.6) With the drywall in place on the deck, trying to raise it up, The cranking wheel and break mechanism started to bend inward. I welded several stiffeners on the frame to the wheel support and break mechanism but this didn't help. It was the break mechanism that is attached to the cranking wheel that was being pulled inward. The cable and the cranking wheel mechanism that has a hub on it, so when you crank the wheel the cable wraps around the hub. These parts are not inline and due to leverage causes the cranking wheel/braking mechanism to be pulled inward a great deal.7) The height of the deck when in a slanted position is nearly 5 1/2' so you need to be about 7' tall to place a sheet of drywall on the slanted deck. I had to rig up a pulley system to the rafters to lift the drywall onto the slanted deck.After a great deal of effort, modifications and foul words. I have decided to trash this lift and go rent one. I would of returned it but do to the modifications to try to repair the deficiencies I am just going to trash it. I do not think I can send it back now.

The only reason I gave it 5 stars for overall rating is because they don't offer 10 stars.! Indispensable if you are putting your drywall up by yourself as I did. It's like a tank. Super Duty. Without it, forget it. I saw where fellows show you how to improvise with nails in the studs or ceiling, etc. No, No, and again No. Spend the 150.00 and get something that will make your life easier, and will allow you to go about your work without cussing up a storm. Can't Miss. Worst case scenario, sell it after the job. If you try to rent one, it costs so much to rent that you 'd have to get the job done in like 5 days or less. This way, if you need a month or two, you've got it.

Lift it is very hard to assemble. The directions are horrible. The words don’t even match the figures and they leave out a lot of things out that you need to do to get it, right.If you can get it assembled, however, it does work as advertised goes up and down pretty easilyAlso several pictures are for the 11 foot lift…. Not the 16’ lift. This one does not lower very low to be easy to load you need two or three people to load it which defeats the whole purpose.

This lift works just fine. I would say that the box it was shipped in was not very good quality. The yellow paint was pretty dinged up, but still works.

I bought this so I can do some ceiling drywall. Vaulted ceiling’s 13’ at the peak. It will take 2 people to load this lift. Why did I even bother. I bought this lift so I wouldn’t have to have help. In order to load the drywall on the lift, you have to lift the sheet 4’6” at least, just to load. The picture does not depict the 16’ jack. It shows a shorter lift. Possibly a 12’. Bad design for a 16’ jack. Bad description. Bad pictures that are of a different item. Not a labor saver when it still takes 2 people to get the sheet loaded. I have not used it yet, and my back is already hurting. The instructions to assemble the unit are not worth reading because they don’t make sense, after you figure out how to put it together. Transporting the unit seems reasonable. It comes apart fairly quickly.
