This is a well built tool for the price and worked well for my jobs. The pump has a good solid feel. I hydro tested 3 compressed air tanks to 260 psi, the pump easily achieved this pressure and the relief valve held fine for the 15 minute duration of each test with no leakage observed. The hose connection is 1/2. The built in water tank is a nice convenience, just fill it and go to work. There is a small filter on the intake but you should use clear water just the same.A few things to note:1) The water tank came with a "factory dent", shallow and about 1" long, it was perfectly painted and there was no damage to the sealed inner box the unit came in so i surmise the dent was on the unit when it was painted and went in the box, it in no way hampered the operation so i wasn't concerned.2) The gauge was not at zero, this often happens when inexpensive gauges are handled roughly. I simply popped the lens off and then removed the pointer by levering it straight off with two putty knives. I hooked a quality gauge to the hose with a few fittings and pumped it up to 100 psi and reinstalled the pointer at the 100 psi mark. The gauge then zeroed correctly and tracked with my good gauge perfectly to the 260 psi test pressure. 5 minute fix.3) The foam on the handle isn't much, again i wasn't concerned.All in all a very nicely built and useful tool for the price. Perhaps if you are using this type of unit daily or at the top of it's pressure rating you might require something more expensive. My expected use is perhaps 6 times per year so i could not justify spending twice as much. This unit feels very solid, i don't see it wearing out any time soon. Good Luck!

The Hydro tester works as expected. It is a nice compact unit. I used it to Hydro test a tank to 300 PSI and itwas easy to use. The only issue I have is with the hose seal setup. I did 2 tests and used up 2 washers. The sealsare flat washers similar to garden hose washers, however smaller. I ended up ordering some more from McMaster Carrthat are a bit harder and more durable. A very small price to pay for a good value on the Hydro Tester.

Saved over $1500.00 for a new compressor by using it to test my very old compressor 80 gallon tank. Performed perfectly out of the box. The built in water tank made the pressure test easy. Great value.

O-ring within the hose failed after 1 use. The tool itself is fine, they just need better quality o-rings.

great product for the price. well built, i have tested 4 different jerricans @ a mere 35 psi but still surprised this worked so well. make sure you buy 1/2" NPT male connector and not a 3/4" npt male as it wont fit. all in all great product and does what its supposed to do.

Works great. Only problem I've had is the the circlips that hold the level assembly together left one evening and I've been unable to find them. Works fine without, just have to be careful that the level assembly doesn't move too much left or right.

This is a decent pump for the price. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I buy a lot of these for our guys at work, but they don't last that long. I would say probably a year with regular use.The paint on them does not adhere to the metal well for waterproofing. So the buckets begin to to rust and the metal will start to expand due to the cheap steel. Also the seals on the piston for the actual compression of the water wear our pretty fast. They are easily replaceable if you can track down the right seal.The last thing to note is that the threaded connections on the pump and the hose (both ends) are 1/2" NPT. I have seen places where it says they are 3/4" of an inch, but that is not they case. They are 100% 1/2" NPT threads. So don't be surprised when you get one.I have probably bought almost 50 of these pumps over the last several years from 2 different suppliers and this review is a broad insight into what we have seen with all of them. Typically I would not give a 4 star rating to such a low quality product, but the price is right for the pump making it almost disposable when you compare it to competing products that can be $400-$600.
