1996 12V Cummins 2500 4x4Let me start this off by saying, you do get what you pay for. I could not justify spending 200-300 dollars on an aftermarket brace setup, but I started thinking when I saw this unit at this price. After reading the reviews it seems the first rendition of this "copied" aftermarket stabilizer had an issue with alignment of the holes. The one I received had absolutely NO issues bolting up and aligning with my truck. The holes are slotted to allow for slight alignment deviations, so don't be mislead by the bad reviews. To be straight, the bearing and stubshaft assembly are COPIES!! THEY ARE KNOCKOFF IMITATIONS OF QUALITY BEARINGS. This should be KNOWN when buying at this price point. However, the brace itself is very sturdy and plenty adequate for the job at hand, no issues there which is perfect for what I was intending to do.Since this is an imitation of an already designed setup, the original aftermarket QUALITY components fit in place of the crappy knockoff stuff included in the kit. I purchased BD Diesels "Service/Rebuild Kit" for their steering brace. It comes with all new hardware, 2 stub/sector shafts and a quality NSK bearing and housing assembly. All in all, I'm in it less than HALF what the aftermarket units cost by going this route. All in all, with my setup of this brace and the quality BD kit that I used in conjunction with this brace, my steering is incredibly improved, even on a brand new steering box. This is an absolute MUST upgrade for your Dodge steering woes!

This is the second time I have installed one of these in my Dodge 2500 diesel 4x4 trucks. A great alternative if you aren't looking to spend a whole lot of cash on one from a well known steering gear reman company in WA. While the red and the head gears are amazing, their brackets aren't any different than this one. They serve the same purpose, fit the same, and function the same. If you are having (or not) steering issues in a 2nd, or 3rd gen Dodge Ram truck, get one of these to eliminate steering wander. The Dodge steering gears are junk, and you're going to be spending money on a new one, so support the effort with this brace. Easy install, and completely worth the money. Don't spend more than you need to on something that serves the same purpose. Just buy this one! Great product, 10/10 would buy again or recommend to others.

Strong and very useful. Takes away some wiggling in the steering gearbox and will help keep the death wobble at bay.

It fit perfect was easy to install but like most other people say it didn't line up at the sterring box but instead of making the holes bigger I just looosend the steering box and it moved enough to get the bolts all lined up with out drillingI was surprised how much you can move the steering box

Overall, took maybe an hour and a half at most to install. That's with taking my time and grabbing the right tools, cleaning threads etc. I am satisfied with my purchase. I noticed less play in the steering, a good bit tighter turns, and less road drift. It fit on my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins With ease. BOLTS AND HOLES MATCHED UP. All hardware was correct.Cons - This doesn't come with installation instructions. I wish the welds were complete instead of partial welds. I'm sure it'll be fine but I'm a overkill, super heavy duty, type of guy on a budget. Also, I don't believe the bolts are grade 8. But they manage to do what they are intended for.Advice - I do recommend a second pair of hands to assist with the stabilizer installation and sway bar. A good and fully complete rachet kit with 1/2 & 3/8 drives and complete set of sockets. Possibly A medium to big Cresent wrench, good penetrating oil, also if possible, cheater bar & torque bar.INSTALLATION - Step by step Instructions in the pictures. The final picture is complete installation. I Hope this helped!I definitely recommend this product.

I was pretty excited to open this up, it's made of thick metal and appears to be well made. Unfortunately the bracket for the bearing was welded on too low and was way off center. I ended up having to elongate the holes a bunch to get it to fit. No instructions as others have said, and while it's not too hard to install it's a bit of a bear to wrestle the bracket and the tortion bar at the same time to try and line the mounting holes up. Ended up spending about 90 minutes trying to elongate the holes with first a file, then a Dremel. Hardware also feels pretty cheesey, I'll probably end up replacing the four frame bolts (felt like they were stretching) with some good grade 8s and good lock washers. Spend a few bucks more and get a product that's got allot more quality than this one.

Tightened up my steering on my pickup for a very reasonable price.

Cheap upgrade to reinforce your steering box. I used this with a borgeson steering box and had to make the mounting holes slightly larger to allow it to line up. Once aligned and installed works great. Bearing it comes with is marginal. Recommend upgrading to one from BD or similar. Overall worth the cost vs the much more expensive one. Save yourself some money on a piece of tube and some flat steel.

This arrived without instructions; however, it is pretty straight forward and there are YouTube videos regarding this.It fit as it should, no issues. Does it work? It seemed to cure some but not all of the wander. let's face it; it is a 26 year old truck with lots of 4x4 time on rough bush roads...Maybe this is as good as it gets...it is worth the price and the try...

I've put this on a couple of Rams, had to modify the first one a little, but the second one went on out of the box with no problems. Tightened up the steering, great budget friendly upgrade for your older Dodge

The ppl that say it doesn’t fit shouldn’t be working on trucks especially if they are going to be driving them on public roads.Loose fit all bolts then snug everything up equally and it will fit perfectly
