I bought it for my 10 year old daughter. After reading other reviews, I purchased Larsen strings and Spirocore strings as well. However, the cello sounds great with its original strings. So, I haven’t changed the strings yet. My daughter is happy since she knows the sounds is more beautiful than her previous cello.We needed to adjust the bridge somewhat and stings several times at first, but it was very easy and we had no problem with it.(We wished a better color of cello bag, but we think it is not a big problem.)

Purchased this for my daughter, who is transitioning from the violin. Replaced the stings with D’Addario Prelude stings after reading another review and even though I’m not a cello player myself, I could hear that the sound was just better. The cello came packaged very well, the finish was even and everything was intact. I would have preferred a hard case, with the option of purchasing a soft case later but that does not change how pleased we are with this purchase. My daughter’s teacher said it is a very nice sounding instrument.
