When my son was in boot camp, he got out he bought me the most beautiful Mothers necklace, made for the mothers of military Army. I've worn it all these years next month will be 30. I've had to replace the chain twice. The last time I got a silver rope chain and had it plated in rhodium. It was still very hard to keep clean. I have used other products that did not clean very well at all. I bought your Simple Shine, oh my it looked like a new necklace, all shiny and just looking like it did when he gave it to me. I purchased this and dipped my silver jewelry with NO RESULTS at all. I happen to have a "drop full" left of an old product-" Hagerty" ( over 10 years old!) and dipped the same jewelry in this with IMMEDIATE SUCCESSFUL results! All tarnish disappeared with the very old product! I looked at this Simple Shine products' ingredients and although it says it contains thiourea, it also says water as first ingredient and preservatives, etc. I would guess it is either dyed blue water or diluted Windex! I wrote to Amazon and they are refunding my purchase. Thankfully Amazon is great about this. I had not realized at that time of purchase , that Amazon sold Hagerty Silver cleaner. I reordered that today! Not sure how this Simple Shine gets away with selling this ineffective product. Buyer beware.

This solution seems to work best when paired with a polishing cloth. Just soaking it won't give you the shine you want, but, if you soak it and use a cloth, the silver cleans very easily!It does stink, but it makes cleaning my rings so much easier. I tried this in cleaning a lot of silver jewelry with gemstones. It worked somewhat and I followed up with my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner for another 10 minutes. and followed up with a polishing cloth. It does take off some of the tarnish, but not a miracle worker. I still had to put in a lot of steps to get the jewelry sparkling.For the price, I expected it to work better. It does not smell or burn your fingers, so that is a plus.

This did work on some of my silver pieces, but it wasn't like magic, and you really have to be very careful with anything that isn't made only of silver. I ended up ruining some stones in this solution. I count that as my own fault because there were warnings and I tried them anyway, but I just wanted to make the point that there is a lot of jewelry out there that's not silver-only, and for that you'll need something else to clean it.The solution doesn't have a pleasant smell at all and it made me feel uncomfortable putting my hands in it. I won't buy it again. There were some pieces that I dipped in, left for the one-two minute timeframe, and came out completely clean, but for the most part I had to buff them with the cleaning cloth for a long time and I'm not sure how much difference the cleaning solution really made. This was a disappointment for me.

I had a David Yurman bracelet that just needed a refresher, left it in the solution overnight and its like a brand new bracelet. The smell of this product is pretty stinky, but I washed my bracelet with some soapy water and it took the smell away. 4 stars for easy to use because the container is not wide enough for a bracelet, I had to pour some of it into a larger bowl to saturate the bracelet. Works great though!

Even after 30 minutes, my silver earrings are still mostly black. The last silver cleaner I bought similar to this worked excellent almost immediately after immersing but I couldn’t find it. Very disappointing

It does work, seller should include a silver cleaning jewelry cloth as well tho as the solution only does so much. They pair well together. 3 out of 5 simply because the container it is in leaks, it leaked even before the seal was opened.
