If you are going to do much canvas work you owe it to your customers and yourself to use good quality spur grommets. #4 size is a good medium size that works well for tarps, awning and bags. You can buy these things in little packs of 10 or 12, but why pay the premium price for small quantities and constantly be running out? Spring for a couple hundred sets that will come well-packaged and quick. The nickel-plated brass ones are strong, attractive and easy to set, but for extreme service you can get stainless steel ones - I wouldn't bother unless I seriously had a need for them. Just buy the nickel-plated ones and a C.S. Osborne #4 Spur Grommet Set and you are ready to go to work.
