Couldn't do a satisfactory job on my white marble, marble is so tricky and I am not that experienced. I end up with a very gross orange peel finish. I was using a Makita 7in angle grinder polisher at low speed, 600 RPM. I tried using diamond pad set and did get a respectful finish. The diamond pads appeared to cut more marble quicker, judging by the water turning white. When using the Zoom pads I felt like I had to run them way longer to get any color in the water.

Remember, your results may vary but it’s definitely not the Zoom pads fault. I’ve used these pads for the last 10 years and have only experienced success. As a certified professional and teacher I can tell you these pads work well on all calcite based stone when used with a weighted machine (140lbs capability is sufficient), and proper management of all parts of the polishing process. Do your homework first on polishing your stone type, and be sure to remove any topical finish from the floor. Learn everything you can and don’t forget this is a very slow and tedious process. Know that these pads will not make a rough surface texture smooth and glassy, or restore deeper scratches (this requires resin bonded and even metal bonded pucks). It’s also worth noting in relation to white hazing some may have experienced in porous stone types; leaving the slurry to dry is going to be a HUGE problem for the uninitiated. Lastly rinsing must be persistent and thorough between steps. This is to remove previous grit types before progressing on.

I bought these to polish my marble countertop on my island. It may have just made it worse.
