they do smell so good, it doesn't last forever but I got them quite a long time ago & the smell is still kind of there. otherwise they are very attractive & make a nice sound when they bump together.I used to have wooden hangers that were not cedar & were lacquered but they always caught my clothes & clothes would slide off them too.these are really smooth & I always get a lift me up when I see them in my closet.also I've never felt that they ate anything other than perfectly sturdy.
