I decided to give this a shot after using graphite sticks ; noticing how quickly they deteriorate, and wanted something different. Graphite sticks are cheaper. But in the long run, you'd be saving a lot more by choosing this quartz stick.It's been through multiple uses and remains absolutely intact. It does not leave any residuals behind such as graphite powders/granules after use. Honestly, I can be quite the spaz sometimes, and I had found myself dropping this stick after getting it red hot, about 3 or 4 feet high, into rocky terrain. Held absolutely intact, with only minor abrasions, which do not change during heat stirs.Only downside is (very minor) that it takes longer to heat than graphite. Very much so, dont regret this transaction.
