This assembly is solid. However, the install does take time. I bolted it on and it works great for my bike carrier. I am going to have it welded for additional strength (increase to Class II - 300 lb tongue weight) , but I surely don't mean to imply you have to. It is VERY secure and solid using bolts (Class I - 200 lb tongue weight). As someone else stated in their review, the install required some intense drilling. You'll probably go through couple drill bits and up to 4 hours for the install. I am definitely very satisfied with this product.

Great product. Very heavy and very strong. I wasn’t able to install it in my travel trailer because I don’t have too much room for the legs that goes in the chassis. I was very excited but now I need to find a better option for my bikes. I gave this hitch 5 stars because it’s a great product. The fit issue was my fault. I didn’t take the correct dims.

I bought this after two abortive attempts to find a hitch to put a cargo carrier on the back of my 2007 Montana 5th wheel. Drilling the large holes through the frame was a chore, but the installation went well in the end. Because I bolted it, I have to live with a class 1 rating, although have you seen some of the welds on RV frames? Give me big high-grade bolts any time! We’re planning a long trip later this year so I’ll let you know if I see the hitch, cargo carrier, generator and grill bouncing down the road behind me!Assuming that doesn’t happen, I’ll literally be a happy camper…..

After purchasing this hitch to place on my travel trailer I found out that it would not work without significant modifications to the hitch. I looked over the specs prior to purchasing and I knew that it may be a challenge to install due to the positions of the cross members on the trailer frame and frame design. I thought “I’ll order it off or prime that way I could send it back if it doesn’t work.” Yes I’m a prime member and all though it says it’s eligible for return and refund, IT IS NOT! There is some hidden fine print. It’s really hidden and appears intentionally buried. The sellers page says that they paid shipping and Amazon reimburses the seller. Because of this arrangement the seller keeps $50 is there is refund/return to pay for the return shipping. That’s bogus. I would not recommend any part of this product just because of this shady business. Also the welded nuts seem suspicious and could be prone to breaking off. Do yourself a favor and buy a better product from some other source.

Bought this hitch for our travel trailer so we could carry our e-bikes. I knew that I was going to have to drill holes through the frame. What worked really well was using a hole saw with oil instead of trying to find the right sized drill bit.Bits that size are longer, and, with limited space, a hole saw mis shorter comparatively. But once the frame is drilled, the rest is cake. We've been on some long, interstate trips since with zero problems. Would recommend this hitch and would buy it again.

Box arrived beaten up and one of the steel legs missing. Welding shop had to use spare parts to make it work.

Used this on the back of my camper for a bike rack and cargo basket. Had it welded on instead of included hardware.

Material was good and seemed well constructed. Unfortunately we were not able to connect it to our trailer.
