We have a 12 gal Suburban Water Heater in our 5th wheel RV. The water where we are staying is so bad that it used up our Anode Rod in 6 months! This replacement fits perfectly and I got a spare one also to have a replacement on hand. The Rod is of great quality, just not our water.

These things are designed to be used up over time. This one came from the original manufacturer, and it should last another year or so.

First off, don't be an idiot like me and NOT depressurize your system before pulling the old rod out. It pretty much blew up in my face and got white silt all over my face, clothes, and my other vehicle close by. I felt like a real fool and this was NOT at all the fault of the product. This was completely stupidity on my part. Other than that, this is a perfect OEM part and super-easy to replace. Product arrived before expected for a fair price. I'll be buying another one for next year when it's time to replace it again.

This looks like an amazing replacement rod. It even came with the PTFE tape on it. Big timesaver. I also bought the washing attachment from Kamco to get all the gunk out of the inside of this thing. This is the first time in 20 years that it has been replaced and somehow it hasn’t sprung a leak yet. I’m not sure how much longer it will last since it’s never had a replacement rod. but this water heater was built in 2004 and it has been used at least 3 to 4 months a year every year for the last 20 years. I just didn’t know you had to replace these things. Glad I learned before it popped a whole. Let’s see if it works.

After trying aluminum Rod on my Camping trailer water heater last year, I notice that the magnesium rod was more resistant than aluminum, the camping trailer was parked at the same place using the same water source. So magnesium works better for my needs and I can see improvement. It is definitively a good choice if you are whiling to pay a little bit more.
