Buyer Beware, I bought this unit three years ago when it quit working. The reason it quit working was that the evaporator had been leaking and finally got to a point where it would not cool. The cost to repair this specific unit is more than the cost of a new unit. I sent all of the required documentation to Summit as requested for their evaluation of the problem, four emails, six phone calls with lots of hold time and I got nowhere with them, no one would talk to me. I would have to leave messages or they would ask to call me back and never do it. This refrigerator like most are "closed systems" meaning that if installed correctly, it should not leak for a long time unless you have a defective part or it was not assembled correctly. The overall warranty is one year and the compressor has a 5 year warranty. I believe they know its their problem and I guess it is their hope I will give up in frustration. The service tech who came and looked at the unit told me they were very difficult to deal with on warranty issues. What a way to do business

This wine cooler was perfect in every way. The size, the looks and how it cools our wine.

This is one of the worst products I have ever bought. From the very beginning the motor was making weird noises, but I was assured it was normal by Summit's customer service rep, who, by the way, was almost impossible to reach. Since it was cooling, I didn't question it. Fast forward a couple of years, of course after warranty ran out... the unit completely dies. Again, it was almost impossible to contact Summit. Phone went straight to voicemail, emails were unanswered, and apparently this brand is so obscure most appliance people don't even work on them.I finally found a repair guy willing to give it a shot. Ordered a part from Summit for $95, and the part didn't do the trick. It took me 3 MONTHS to get my refund for the part after numerous phone calls and emails. My repair guy says he has never seen such a "crowded" mechanism as was in the inside of this wine cooler. He was amazed it performed as long as it did. He figured out the problem and tried to order the part from Summit - another exercise in frustration, but he finally got through. Summit told him they "no longer make that part!"Bottom line: I am out a $600+ refrigerator that will be polluting the earth in a landfill. To add insult to injury, I have just purchased another wine fridge. NOT A SUMMIT!Buyer beware - stay away from Summit products!

Do NOT buy this from Summit. the I've owned this fridge for 18 months, it was replaced about a year ago because the compressor needed to be replaced - it was loud and made a knocking noise as it turned down. Now the mechanical lock, which was only used maybe 40 times, is broken. In order to fix the lock (which means accessing a loose screw that's tucked away), Summit requires a brand new door be purchased for $220. Poor quality, poor design.
