Bought this fixture to replace a similar 10 inch round exterior bulkhead unit that rotted away and failed.I had hoped to find a fixture that accepted standard Edison base filament light bulbs. This is very handy for WHEN the LED units fail-- it's an easy replacement of the bulb rather than the entire fixture.This light fixture is entirely plastic save for an thin sheet aluminum internal reflector-- that might be a plus for exterior use since in theory it won't rust or corrode. But 90% of plastic exposed to sunlight will eventually become crazed, brittle and disintegrate-- so you WILL have to replace this fixture-- and I bet not later but sooner.The entire fixture is thin and flimsy plastic. I joke that American made products like this are usually very cheaply made and the manufacturer had cut every corner possible in order to compete against far east products. This light fixture will prove my point. Maybe you'll get thirty years out of it but bet on five if the fixture is doing exterior service and shielded from the elements .Lastly there is no clearance on the backside-- this fixture is made for flush mounting! In my case I have a surface mount compact junction box/tray that clamps the service wires and provides a mount for the light fixture. The fixture I'm hoping to replace had plenty of clearance for this. This fixture does not-- so unless you have a recessed junction box/mount or there's just a wire sticking through the bulkhead on which you plan to mount this fixture-- don't bother with it.. you'll have to fabricate a standoff mount to accommodate the shallow flush mount backside.In summary-- if you plan to use this fixture indoors it will be passable. If you plan to use outdoors-- find something else. I returned the unit I ordered....
