I don't usually write reviews, but this thing is great. I had a half shaft on a 2001 Dakota that was stuck like you wouldn't believe. It laughed at the 5lb slide hammer and 7' bar. This tool was too big to fit behind the half shaft, but that's not its fault. I cut the forks off with a grinder and took out about 5/8" and welded them back on. The opening between the forks was about 1-3/8" after. That got it moving. I did have to use a fan wrench as a spacer to get it to pop all the way off. It comes with the other fork to space it out, but it was much too thick. So if you're working on a Dakota, you may want to see if you can find a narrower one. But the concept is sound and the tool is well built.

These tools made it much easier to remove a half-shaft when the car is on jack stands. The compact design allows for work in limited space. A great value at $20.

I have seen these things for a few years now to help with CV axles, but I always found it easier to just use a pry bar instead. That changed when I got this Ford Escort that I am changing the transmission on and found Ford, in their infinite wisdom, decided to not put any place where you could get leverage with a pry bar on the driver side CV axle. This tool did it though. Just took the tool that was tapered at the end and pounded it down with the hammer, then hit the end on the side with the hammer and pop it out. Makes life so much easier doing a task that is always kinda a pain anyway. But I have a feeling it won’t be as much now with this tool kit.

I needed to replace a front CV on my '11 Subaru forester and I wanted to get an actual tool instead of using a screw driver or a tire spoon to pry it out. This wedge fork works perfectly to remove it. The splined shaft fits between the tines and the wedge shape is thin enough to get under the cup. It pulled the cv shaft straight out and I'm happy.

I used this tool to remove both left and right CV axle for a 2001 Camry V6. This tool makes it easy to pry axle out from transmission or from the housing. The opening is wide enough to fit the axle in between so you can pry on the metal housing evenly. Very solid and strong tool.

I don't know how I missed these for so many years when I even was looking for a tool to help make CV axle removal easier. The last time I had to pull the front CV axles on my GMC canyon pickup it took over 90 minutes with cold chisels and misery and pain to get the first one to pop out. This tool took about 10 or 15 seconds to pull each axle honestly. I used a 3 pound mini-sledge and it took about 3 or 4 good whacks to pop each one out. I cannot overstate how happy I am with this tool and how much time it saved me.,

These are worth their weight in GOLD! I've broken a mount before and these made it so simple to separate. Felt very foolish for not having these in the first place. The broken mount cost me a lot of money and time. These tools split the axel just like its supposed too. Very grateful.
