The cover is heavy duty as advertised and the draw string keeps it in place even in very strong winds. While I don't have a photo with the cover on, you can see the firepit and its locations from the pictures that I have attached. In the fall in particular, we get very strong winds off the water and it is not unusual to have sustained winds of 20 mph and see 3' - 4' waves (which just occurred last week for two straight days - with gusts up to 35 mph). Through the entire time the cover didn't move one bit. I would recommend it for people thinking of purchasing one.

I love the material it is made of and that it is a bit larger in size than the fire pit because it covers the legs very well.

I've had this Outdoor Classics Heavy Duty 36" Round fire pit cover for about a week now. I purchased it for my 34" diameter fire pit (which, with the spark screen on it, stands 21" tall) with a removable spark screen "dome" on it and the cover is plenty big. I would guess that it would easily fit a 36" diameter fire pit. The cover is made from a material almost like a rubberized light canvas. It does NOT have the feel of being all plastic, like a swimming pool toy, float, or a plastic tarp. It seems durable and heavy enough to do the job. It has been in heavy and light rain for the last two days and it is shedding off all the rainwater. There were no leaks that I can see so, unlike a previous reviewer, my fire pit is completely dry underneath this cover. It has a draw string around the bottom edge with a push button clasp in which you can pull the string tight around the bottom of the fire pit so the wind will not blow or pull it off. The bottom outside edge (not the bottom of the metal fire pit) of my fire pit sits 13" off the ground and this cover has a 4 and one-half inch ground clearance when mounted on this fire pit with spark screen. Drawing the string tight will increase this ground clearance somewhat. I believe this will suit my needs for a fire pit cover that will sit outside in the rain and sun.UPDATE 9/6/15: I purchased this cover at the end of Dec. '14. I has been on my fire pit since receiving it and is still keeping rain from getting into the grill, but it has faded to a light gray color in the sun over this period of time. The portion of the cover below the top of the grill is still a deep black color but the portion of the cover covering the top of the grill is very faded. It has been this way for at least a couple of months now. Other than it severely fading, and now a two-tone cover, I am still pleased that it is still keeping rain out of the fire pit.UPDATE 12/28/15: The cover is now leaking water quite substantially, as 2" of ashes left in the fire pit were completely soaked. It started leaking water during the first week of December '15. While the seams are still viable and the cover is not tearing or shredding, it will not keep rain from entering the fire pit. The top portion of the cover has faded somewhat more, while the portion hanging under the fire pit is still black, but not as deep a black as it was new. In summary, the cover kept rain from entering the fire pit for almost a year. The color though faded drastically much sooner. I am now first covering the spark screen with a large trash bag then replacing this cover over the trash bag/fire pit until it can be replaced.

If you have a stone fire pit I have some bad news... If it's made out of manufactured material like concrete or pavers that you get it places like Home Depot or Lowe's then it's going to crack and fall apart within a few years. Aside from the weather which is a huge factor in the longevity of outdoor fire pits, The tremendous heat and cooling weekends the integrity of the stone and over just a few seasons they will crumble and fall apart. Your $600 to $1200 investment is down the drain. For approximately $35 you can potentially hang on to that fire pit and keep it looking like new for years. This material is identical to what Weber grill uses for their outdoor gas and charcoal grills. If you're familiar or if you're not... It's made of a very heavy duty plastic material that almost looks woven, I've seen grills that are 20 years old that still look new because all the damaging sun and snow (depending on your climate) are absorbed by the sacrificial cover. The reason I'm bothering to leave a review is because there are a ton of companies on Amazon and eBay selling fire pit covers... Buyer beware, the super cheap ones fall apart and do little to nothing to protect your investment. This unit is a high quality cover that should last for many years just rinse it off a couple times a year with a hose to keep mildew or dirt off of it. One last piece of advice, find a scrap piece of 2x4 or even a cinder block and place it straight up in the middle of your fire pit before you cover it. This creates a tent and the water will run off of your cover instead of sinking into it like a cup.

Item appears to be more durable than the one that came with my fire pit. Seems to repel water fairly well, but I may do a water repel treatment in few months just to be sure. Nice looking. 30" x 12" fits nicely on my 27" x 10" pit. Drawstring works well to snug it up under during wind.

We've had this two seasons now and although it's a little faded there are no tears and it is keeping the water out of the fire pit for our HOA.
