I ordered this to replace the switch in my older Frigidaire furnace I have in my garage. The original parts are no longer available. This has a very wide range of pressure settings so will work for a lot of different applications.

After 2 failed attempts by a certified heating specialist to repair my Coleman Echelon High Efficiency Furnace, I decided to attempt to repair it myself! So I ordered this switch and the 'Manometer, RISEPRO® Digital Air Pressure Meter and Differential Pressure Gauge HVAC Gas Pressure Tester' . Once I determined what pressure I needed to set the switch at, I selected the pressure spring & tweeked the adjustment by tightening the allen screw in small increments until the switch responded as it should. It's been working without any issues for over 30 days now! It is now mid December and the outside temp is 23 degrees. I will update this review at the end of the heating season!

I was able to use this to replace one in a 20 year old furnace that was no longer available. This same pressure switch is used in a lot of different mfr. furnaces, with various pressure range springs. As a matter of fact, it was made by the same mfr as the original, looked almost identical.But you better know what you are doing, because it is not always clear which spring to use, and which orientation to mount this, I am an engineer, so I was able to understand how to test the device to switch at the correct pressure, but the directions that come with this are not too straightforward, most can probably figure it out by googling etc. but this is used at a very low pressure in the furnace and it is critical to get it right, vibration, orientation and spring pressure need to be just right. Still working now, 3 3 months later.

I had a furnace air switch fail and the exact replacement part was about 50 bucks more expensive. This unit gives you all the options on wiring - normally open or normally closed. It comes with a spring kit so you can set the switch point. I picked the "standard" spring. good for .30 to .90 WC - dropped the spring in and turned the screw about 1 turn in (my estimate for a .40WC switch that this was replacing.) It comes with two different mounting brackets - was easy to install in the same space the old switch occupied.

This W.C. "air pressure" switch is VERY versatile. It comes with an assortment of springs so that, with the integral micro adjustment, may be used over an uncommonly wide range of pressure requirements: to wit .010" W.C. to 10.0" W.C. It is also designed to trigger on negative OR positive pressure settings. It has internal contacts, both N.C. and N.O. (no external micro switch). Furnished with two mounting brackets but no tubing. Positive and negative ports provided to accept about 3/16- 1/4 in I.D. tubing. A very unique switch and JUST what I required!.A perfect switch to provide warning of blocked HVAC air filters, etc.

Yes universal unit. To set it up you need a manometer, a set up to supply air pressure and a multimeter. More set up than I anticipated. Unless you have these, just buy the correct one right away. Returning it went well though.
