This is perfect for what I needed. The battery life is way longer than I expected. It is great for already worked ground that you just need to maintain. De-weeding on new weeds is no problem for this tiller. This tiller doesn't like lots of rocks...it will stop if it hits one. Larger weeds can get wrapped into the tines, but easy to remove. I love how lightweight it is and easy to transport. I find it works better to pull it backwards rather than go forward with it (maybe that is how it is supposed to work and I overlooked that part in the manual). Easy to put together and operate.

I bought this on sale here (it was about $130) and was hesitant to even spend that much. but after going through some terrible gas powered cultivators, I thought I would give this a try.It works PERFECTLY for a weeder/cultivator in established gardens, which is what I wanted it for. You will NOT be able to use this for tilling solid ground. Don't waste your money if that is what you want. But if you want a supplementary machine to go between the rows and keep the soil loose and the weeds at bay, this is a good choice.Comes with two batteries, one charger. Fully charged I get 45 to 60 minutes of use, and it stays as fast and strong near the end, as it does newly charged. Charging the 2 batteries takes about two hours. It is lightweight enough you can physically pick it up and swing it over to the next row if you want. Vibration and handling are not problems, I had no problems putting it where I wanted to cultivate, and can even pull it backwards without stopping. Depth is adjustable, but even in loose soil at max setting it will only go down 3-4 inchs. Its very quiet as well.Overall, very happy. I have used it through 4 full charge cycles so far this garden season, I will revisit this review if it fails or problems arise.

Update: It's 2 years later, and this has completely died. Customer service email response is 5 star. I emailed the company about the issues and response was within 24 hours. Sadly, it cannot be fixed, and has to be replaced. Now that Asurion has an extended warranty and replacement offer, I would highly suggest getting it.I still have 2 batteries that are still good. Expected a longer life from this. Did not put many hours of use on it over 2 years. Hubby got this instead of a gas powered mini cultivator, and I am so happy with it. Batteries charge up pretty quickly. The back wheel is adjustable, so you can get the depth needed. Having hand and arm issues doesn't keep me from using this effectively. Used it to weed my whole garden, and till up my raised beds. No bothering with gas or cords, and it is quiet, as far as motor powered tools are concerned. Batteries seem to last about 40 min., give or take. Time will tell the durability, but it seems well made, blades are strong.

I am very happy with the performance of this tiller. I used it to make a new bed in my backyard for my Three Sisters garden, and it exceeded expectations. I was able to do the whole plot I wanted without running out of battery. This spot of ground was dry, clumpy, rocky, and rooty, and this thing never missed a beat. I did have to stop a couple times to remove grass and weeds from the tines, but once I got through the grass, it never stopped. It is light, very easy to stop and start, assembly was self-explanatory, the battery life seems to be great so far. I really wanted one I could use by myself, and this is perfect. I will update this if anything changes as I continue to use it through the season. I researched deeply into electric tiller/cultivators to find one that could break new ground and this seemed to be the best at this price point.

I bought this to help me rip out my old lawn that was more weed than lawn. It saved me so much time trying to dig everything out by hand. It has been over a month since I completed the clean up of the area and I still have not had any weeds return! It also helped me loosen the dirt while digging ditches for new irrigation plumbing. The batteries last a very long time!

Used this today and it worked nicely on the area that has already been worked, I’m expanding my garden and it will not till the hard ground 🤷🏼‍♀️ lesson learned

Update 4/4/22 pic one (battery type it came with ) Pic two (battery type in advert) they do not fit in tiller batteries no longer charge can’t find replacements I ended purchasing adapter for B&D batteries ( same voltage and amps as included batteries) and retro fitting them. Works great. Original batteries defective company changed out to new battery design that don’t fit original unit that really sucks for a lot people who purchased before the change out.see picturesFirst picture - is in advert with battery type you can order ( it doesnt fit )Second picture - is what it came with and you cant find this battery anywhere

Full disclosure, I bought this to retill a plot that was tilled about a month ago and has since overgrown with weed seedlings. Some parts were compacted by rain and a bit tougher. But this was easy to assemble and use. Uses both batteries at once and runs about 1 hr before loosing charge. Full recharge is about 4-5 hrs. This did a beautiful job. If you are tilling virgin ground, I can’t say this would be the best tool for a larger job the the first time through. But to revive a previously used plot, this is very good. Tends to bounce a bit on harder ground but will catch and do the job in a few seconds if you take your time. Easy to transport with simple knob style nuts and carriage bolts on either side of lower handle. I’m still going to use it for some smaller new garden and landscaping projects even though I know it will take a little longer to finish. i don’t doubt it will do just fine for the power it has and the size of the jobs.

Its straightforward enough to assemble without any additional tools, doesn't take long, but it would be as well to look at the pictures to see that you have tubes, etc the right way round. Its light, easy enough to carry, manoevre and seems solid enough. Its never going to be strong enough to turn over new ground so its not a rotivator. As a tiller it does a fine job of turning in compost, and even without compost, it does a fine job to surface depth sufficient to turn a fine tilth for planting. On my allotment I plan to work little and often, so a charge will last long enough to turn a patch and stop me going on for longer than I should. On first use I tilled an area 9ft x 6ft or approx 3m x 2m enough to plant my onions, and same again in the ground to be under my poly. Thats enough for one task at a time (or was that 2?), and there was still a strong charge left.I'm pleased with the purchase at first impressions and no doubt I will learn more about its robustness and capacity as I get used to it.

But it only came with one charger but needs to batteries to operate thats the only downside to this tiller.

Use this at the allotment and so much easier than digging! Perfect. We bought extra more powerful batteries so it lasts longer and wouldn’t be without it now !

Delivered quickly and easy to assemble. Have used it twice on my allotment with good results. Easy to transport as it is relatively light compared to a petrol unit. Batteries lasting well at the moment.Real test will come when spring arrives. Will update thereafter.

Only for light work, would probably be ok for tilling up compost but if there is any stones in your soil look for something heavier.
