So I thought I wanted the best moss & this company has it also! But when I looked at the prices by weight? I was like wow I get 5lb for $11 with Amazon Prime Delivery, I had to try it! & it blew my mind, Of course I had to wash it thoroughly because it is mountain moss & it smelled like it was harvested from the mountains! I put what I needed in 5gallon bucket full of water & dunked it up & down! I then used it for Moss Poles since I realized moss poles take an incredible amount of moss to even make one & would cost me a fortune with the more expensive route that the way cheaper one which is 1/4th the price!!!

I will never purchase this item again! This must be the bottom of the barrel for sphagnum moss. The pieces are small and many of them are just specs which makes it very hard to pack Moss poles. The package also contained a lot of debris such as sticks and leaves. When handling this Moss it is very dusty. The worst part is once this Moss is wet it smells like poo and I mean real poo! Never again will I buy this item I hope you consider my warning as well.

I used the mountain moss for a moss pole. Needless to say that plant will stay on the patio for a long while until it smells a lot better. The moss worked well going inside the PVC pipe I used, but before putting the moss in the PVC pipe I had to let the moss soak it in water a bit to loosen it. Here's where t gets weird...As I was putting the moss in the water I noticed there was a lot more dirt than moss it the bag it came in . Then I came inside from the garage where I had my stuff set up to work on and my husband proceeded to enter the garage. After about 10 minutes he came in the house and ask me, " Can you please tell me what stinks so bad in the garage?" I said no and returned to finish my project. When I open the garage door a smell that smelt like dead fish hit me in the face like a ton of bricks and in getting closer to the soaking moss I could tell where the smell was coming from. THE MOSS!Now I don't claim to be a person that knows a lot but I can say any time I have ever bought sphagnum moss at any place even Amazon, it never smelt like this stuff infact it never had a smell at all. Nor did it have dirt in it. Don't know if I can return it either especially after you wet it. I used it and I do have to say it worked real well. But I really can't say if I'll use it again. I do know I won't buy it again. Maybe I'll call Amazon and see what they say to do.UPDATEI spoke with Amazon, and they were very helpful. I am sending all of what I didn't use back and getting something different. Thank you, Amazon.
