I've never made anything out of concrete before. My sister is really into turtles so I bought this mold to make stepping stones for her. I didn't know what to expect. This mold was very sturdy and after making 4 stepping stones, it still looked like new. Further, I sprayed oil on the inside. There is a lot of fine lines and texture to the mold. I feared it would not come out easily and it did! Not once did any part stick to the mold and not come out in one piece. Each piece came out super easily and in perfect condition! I was impressed. My sister, who received the gift last night was in tears, it was so beautiful! I used concrete stain and several layers of sealant to protect it, which is why it is shiny. This mold was well worth it!

This took a little longer to arrive from the Ukrane but was worth it. I have made 5 molds from Sacrete extra strength concrete. 4 per $ 3.80 per bag. I lubricatet it with Pam grill spray smoothed with a paper towel and they cats pop right out. I had other similar cat stepping stones from Amazon. they were smaller and one broke into several pieces with out much use. this is much cheaper if a little more time consuming. I allow the molds to sit over night then turn it out and make another. I do, as one should with all concrete, keep it covered or moist for a day or more. concete does not dry to strengh it hardens. These are twice as large as those mentioned above, heavier thus more stable and stronger. I will wait the month required to apply a sealer to keep them from turning red like the soil here but I will have 8 cat sepping stones for the price of 4 of the others and they were smaller and I will still have the mold to make more if I wish. the concrete does not make perfectially smooth finished stones but one can use other products (search Amazon) for smoothe finish. the few bubble-caused pits donot detract from the cat pose. Oh I dyed one black and there are other colors for concrete die. I think one can apply stain to concete and I may try that to model and orange tabby. I know one can paint concrete but it needs to be touched up often if out side in all weather.

After a few attempts I got frustrated as the feet or heads were breaking off. It seems the issue was it was just too hot in Texas for them to set without cracking. Once I moved them inside to an air conditioned room and let them set at least days they came out perfect! The photo is the finished product after we applied a gloss sealer. We used a dark grey concrete color as these were a gift for a dear friend and they requested the dark grey color. Super happy with this mold, just temperature issues in Texas!

The mold is sturdy, nicely detailed. The instructional video was great, I like the technique for getting the bubbles out with a hammer drill. Only complaint is that there really should have been some mention in the details that they are sent from Ukraine, it took 26 days to arrive.

I love this mold! It is very sturdy and well made. I have made three turtles so far and they have all come out great! I wipe it down with vegetable oil and they slide right out. It takes me about 16 heaping cups of mortar mix to fill them. I also use chicken wire to give them more strength and have had no problems with the feet or head breaking. I lay the chicken wire over the mold and cut it to shape so that there is wire throughout the entire turtle rather than just the head and feet. I wait roughly 24 hours before taking them out of the mold. I make sure to clean it right after I take the turtle out. My only minor complaint (and this has nothing to do with the mold) is that no matter how much shaking and dropping I do, I cannot get all of the air bubbles out. I’m sure I’ll be the only one that notices!

Be sure to use a oil/spray on the mold or it will dry out and Crack.
