I'm a long time player, hack luthier who enjoys guitar repair as a hobby. I purchased these frets to rehab a worthless import neck I had sitting around as a project to practice fretting and fret shaping. Since I was very likely to screw things up, I bought the cheapest frets I could find for this exercise. These frets are made of really soft metal and are on the "vintage" end of the size scale. They're short and relatively thin, reminiscent of old fender guitars. They all seated properly in my neck and took to leveling and shaping easily. Dimensions seemed consistent and while the quality didn't seem great, it was not awful. They play fine, I'm just worried they won't last due to the softness. One more item to consider. The neck I refretted was very narrow, about 41mm at the nut, and these were sufficiently wide. There may not be enough length for full size instrument, especially since the tang is cut a little shorter than the overall length. Caveat emptor. If you're looking to refret on the cheap and don't mind small frets, these will do. If you're refreting anything that has value or that you plan on playing a lot, spend the extra few bucks and get into a higher quality fret.

I had a fine time with these. No problems. To address maybe some missing info and some of the other reviews that I have read about these.1) I used these to refret a Les Paul neck with binding. They say they are for a Strat, but the tang has been cut back already for "fret over binding" work. Worked great. The radius match my guitar just fine, maybe could have used a bit more bend. I would think you might have to bend them a bit to match the radius on a Strat.2) They didn't seem soft to me. They seem like every other copper/nickel fret wire. They're not stainless or EVO, just standard regular old fret wire. They're pre cut, the tang is nipped back already, perfect for fret-over-binding work.3) Mine had the proper count. 24 frets delivered.4) These are definitely vintage spec'd. About .40" high and .90" wide. Which is what I wanted. I'm not a jumbo or even med jumbo fan. I push down hard and tall frets will go sharp for me. The frets on my 74' LP were very flat and these did the trick.

Every fret was a different lengths. I ordered two sets and both came with various lengths of frets

Used these while making a coat rack for my son. Not sure if these get glued into place, but I'm not a guitar builder by trade. I simply cut the fret board vertically on my scroll saw and by cutting in the exact depth of the blade, I was able to light hammer these into the channels I cut. I am aware of fret saws and all but I wasn't buying one of those if I had a way to do it in my shop

I was building my own guitar and almost complete, so I thought I would order some frets. Advertised 24 frets. Only received 20. Now I'm stuck with 20 extra frets, no option to get replacement ones without returning these. Wish they could just accept their mistake and mail me more for free. Now my project is on hold
