I bought this kit since the 1st gen CTS-V is notorious for cooking starters, and after replacing my second dead starter, I decided to take preventative measures. This is my second starter wrap kit that I've bought and it included more material than I was expecting - more than enough to cover my starter. I may use the leftover to shield some additional components. The included metal zip ties worked well and felt like quality parts.Only time will tell how durable and how effective this will be, but I feel pretty confident.

Nice little sleeve, the edges didn’t fray during install.The two metal ties that came with it didn’t fit my starter (Chevy small block 350) so I had to connect them together so that it would fit. Bit disappointing but it’s still fixed ok.

I ordered this to protect my starter from header heat. This thing is a piece of wallpaper. It’s 100% useless.

Bought this for 70 chevy pickup starter. The heat shield was fine but the stainless tie straps weren't long enough to go around the starter. They may work fine on other types of starters.

My exhaust pipe passes a few inches under my starter due to an engine swap and 4x4 conversion. Had problems with slow cranking when the engine was hot like after stopping for gas. Read online this could be caused by starter heatsink. This solved the problem and the engine fires right up no matter what now
