Very well made and attractive. Heavy cast iron with very handsome enameling. A no-brainer over steel or copper pots. The black base is heavy and the wooden base looks good and holds the fondue well. Looks great when set up. I purchased the red pot. Well worth the price. For 5 diners, need 10 forks, so had to purchase additional sets. To keep the meal moving, you need one fork ready to put in the pot when you pull one out. Pretty basic set-up instructions. Came with an unidentified metal 3" disc (damaged). Not mentioned in parts listing. ?? One caution is that the fuel container wobbles slightly on the wooden base; a reason to have caution when the fuel is lit. Highly recommend if you love to entertain with quality tableware.

i purchased this unit because of the wood base vs metal base i think looks much better better, quality i think is really good for base and pot (except for forks they are just ok).Yes you can't remove the burner once pot is in place but i think maybe is a safety feature??... i did not have an issue with it, did not need to refuel.Tip :about the fuel, i purchased a sterno can and because they are bigger they dont fit so i used a can opener and open the content they i transferred the gel fuel with a plastic spoon to the fondue burner and worked like a champ.

I purchase this as a Christmas gift. It was used several times over the holidays for cheese and chocolate. The recipients love it. Not only is it stylish and beautiful, but it is extremely functional and easy to clean. Purchased the Swissmar sterno gel cans as well. They fit perfectly. Great product.

Nice fondue pot which can be used for meat or cheese fondue. Possibly for chocolate too. Being cast iron enamel, t's heavy, but not unstable. We heated oil on the stove before starting the gel fuel burner. Temperature of the oil not so unstable as in thin stainless fondue pot, but it takes longer to heat up and cool down. The enamel is nice and a color that reminds kids that it could be hot. Also, the pot is not so huge that it requires a lot of oil.The only downside is the burner does not fit through the legs without lifting it, so you need to plan to leave it in place before adding the pot. I have seen smaller burners, and I think they could have either made the legs and base wider or paired it with a smaller burner. Overall it's a good size and seems well made. Cleans up well as the inside is enameled also.

Tried fondue for the first time with this set. Picked it because of the reviews on here and also on other websites. Great quality in all of the pieces. Had company over so there was 6 of us and we had plenty of cheese without running out in this size pot. Forgot the excess cheese because was waiting for it to cool down to clean til the next morning. Well we were pleasantly surprised that it was a snap to clean even though it sat out over night. Suggest making fondue on stove first then pour into fondue pot with burner on lowest setting. It kept it very hot and we had it on for an hour and didn’t even use maybe half the liquid burner fuel.

Love this set.We did a traditional Swiss fondue and this worked beautifully. The metal is heavy, heat distribution is even and the crusted cheese came right off after soaking the pot overnight in hot water and dishwashing soap.

Have owned different fondue pots over the years and this one is BY FAR the best. Cast iron cant be beat for its even heating, flexibility between cheese or oil (meat) fondues, ability to heat on the stove and transfer to gel flame, nice touch on the "lid" that has cut outs for the forks - also its beautiful and has utility beyond fondue (cast iron is unbeatable for stovetop to table to maintain heat). Love this and well worth the higher price.

I used this to cook a cheese fondue and it worked perfectly. I plan on using it to prepare a hot broth and a hot oil recipe. I appreciate the splatter guard design too, especially with the hot oil.

I did a lot of research before buying and read all comments. See my take below:-Big enough to feed 6-8 at least for cheese fondue. Looks bigger than picture.-True that the flame cant be refilled or replaced easily with base on, but you just get mitts and take it off if needed. If this was the case, then maybe it wouldn't heat up pot well or be as stable. I havent needed to replace it though in 2x using it. By the time flame burns out, we are done anyway.-Pot heats nicely on stove to melt cheese. Cleans well. Stable on frame, no problems because pot is heavy cast iron.-Cant complain- very happy. Looks good too.

It takes a LONG time to use those oil can things under neath. You preheat this on the hob and then put it over those oil can but they only keep the oil warm. It took a long time to cook things but it did work eventually.
