I needed a swivel hook to pull logs from the forest. I wanted something easy to operate, take abuse, and ensure a secure connection. I saw this and another swivel hook and ordered both. I want overkill to make sure I don't get into trouble. This is a very heavy duty, beefy swivel hook. The metal is very thick and should easily handle 2 tons. The latch for unlocking the hook works smoothly. When it latches, the hook is definitely secure. The swivel is smooth and the D ring appears to have a thinner section for use with a chain with grab hooks (didn't test yet - see pictures). I think this hook is going to be used as the primary heavy stress hook, since it is so beefy. The only issue with this hook, and the reason I ordered a second different hook, was that the hook is not one piece with the bolt and swivel. It has a joint, so when unlocked the hook moves. I'd rather just the latching mechanism moved. This puts all the 2tons of stress on that pivot point pin, not the hook itself. Don't get me wrong, I think it will handle 2 tons because the metal is so beefy. I just think it might not be the best design and a potential failure point. See the last picture where I have a side by side of the Leero 2ton swivel hook. The hook itself is one piece with the bolt connecting the the D hook. In that case, the Leero hook latching mechanism is not as sturdy as this hook. Might hold up, might not when really abused and time will tell on it.In the end, if I want a secure connection, I'll use this hook over the Leero. It is just that beefy.

This hook is perfect for my tree felling needs. It is heavy, and with a 2-ton+ rating, will be more than sufficient for what I do with my tree farm operation. The swivel function on the eye will ensure your rope won't get shortened inadvertantly while twisting. Awesome. The eye on this hook is more than adequate for the 5/8" rope that I use in most applications. I really like the locking hook with safety, ensuring two steps are needed to unlock the hook. And the fact that the safety release works in the opposite direction of hook opening action, means forces are required in two different directions to release the hook. Not to say that is not possible in the natural world, but it would be less likely. That's an excellent safety feature.Having confidence in your equipment makes work more enjoyable, especially when you are working around very large and heavy things. Having this hook, one that far exceeds the lifting capabilities of my tractor, is very comforting, indeed.I already attached it to my rope and dragged a trunk to the processing area. Performance was flawless, as expected.Get this hook, and thank you for reading my review.

Even though this is the smallest of the three hooks offered, it is still substantial and works great. It is made of thick steel and built to withstand some stress. I have no doubt that it can hold 2 tons of weight as listed in the description. The locking latch is great. It gives me a lot of confidence knowing that once I have hooked my load and let the latch close it is not going to slip off the hook. The latch holds tight once engaged. The swivel works great.I use this hook for work around my farm and with my tractor. I used the hook to hoist a large (probably 800 pound) hog for processing and the swivel made it easy to rotate the carcass as needed to get it skinned. It made the job so much easier. I have also used the hook to stretch barbed wire and it worked great for that too. I was able to hook the handle on the roll of barbed wire and then drive the tractor down the fence line. The swivel allowed the barbed wire to unroll with minimal snags and tangles.

I’m using this on a medium sized hydraulic shop crane and it works great. It’s made with heavy steel and has a good durable painted finish. The opening mechanism is smooth and easy to open and close, but stays secure once it’s under load. Overall, I’m very happy with it and expect it to do the job for many years.

Very surprised at how well made this hook is, the term "heavy duty" actually means what it says in this instance.I have no worries using this for very heavy lifting as part of the hoist/winch system in my garage. Yes, this hook is overkill for my purposes, but I like the security of using overbuilt components.Extremely pleased with this product.

Better than expected, but the latching mechanism is different that pictured. Thinner metal with a snap spring. Not really the critical part of the support hook. The part that holds the weight is sturdy.
