I didn't know how hard I was making it for myself by using dull plexi scrapers. Bought the Swix Plexi World Cup Sharpener, mounted it to my ski tuning work bench with a couple screws and away we went. One or two passes and I have a crisp plexi edge. Wax scraping takes half the time and effort. Must have tool for home shop ski tuning.

Although I aggressively pursued less expensive options, given that this is just high strength plastic and a file, the only options from smaller brands, Swix and Toko apparently make the only viable options- and they seemed to be identical in all but color and branding. Absolutely nothing wrong with this one. As per usual I’m quite happy with Swix products, but I am not a fan of shelling out $60 for something so simplistic- albeit vital. It is a necessity if you wax with any regularity at all. 4 passes, on each side of your plexi scraper, and it will effortlessly be as sharp as you’ll get it.

This sharpener is really just a very coarse file. It is difficult to get a nice 90-degree edge on a plastic scraper.
