OUR T2 IMPACT PROTECTION PADDED SHORTS
MULTIPLE LAYERS OF PROTECTION
The pads in our T3 impact protection shorts are made from multiple layers of different density foam. Combining the multi-density layers gives greater protection while reducing the overall pad thickness. The denser layers of foam dissipate and absorb more of the impact’s energy. The softer layers provide cushioning as well as additional protection between you and the ground.

Our multiple layer design and durable spandex pockets allow our foam to constantly reshape to your body, creating pads that move the way you do.
CUSTOMIZABLE THICKNESS
Take control of your pad thickness and hardness. With multiple layers of foam there are different combinations possible. Customize your pad to suit your personal needs by varying the layer configuration. Keep more pad where you need it and take away from where you don’t.
WARNING: The coccyx pad set should not be reduced to a total thickness of less than 1/2” (12.7 mm), and all other pad sets should not be reduced to a total thickness of less than 3/8” (9.5 mm).
BREATHABLE MESH SHORTS WITH MOISTURE MANAGEMENT POCKETS
Tortoise Pads impact protection shorts are made from a durable Nylon-Spandex power mesh fabric that maximizes airflow and provides great breathability. The Poly-Spandex pockets have moisture management fabric. This fabric has enhanced fibers with excellent wicking capabilities that pull moisture away from both your skin and the power mesh shorts. It will aid in the evaporation and cooling process and will help keep you dry and comfortable in hot conditions.

THE TORTOISE PADS STORY
Family owned and run. Tortoise Pads was conceived when the founder, Keith Jacobson (pictured left), decided to start skateboarding at age 55 because he wanted to hang out with his 12-year-old son at the skate park. For him having the best pads was not an option, it was a necessity. He quickly found out that the sports industry was severely lacking in quality, high impact hip and butt pads. That’s when he started making his own.
Keith spent months in his garage designing and modifying his padded shorts. He used his engineering experience to developed his multi-density foam configurations. The result was a product that provides both high-level protection and comfort. Keith carefully selected the pad shapes and placement to give the user a complete range of motion with maximum coverage. My daughter tried in on and says it’s comfortable. I bought it for her ice skating axel jumps. The hope is to protect her from bad falls. I will update the review once she uses it on ice.

These pads are amazing and well worth the price. Good fit and ability to customize the thickness of pads is very useful. I bought a pair for myself (thanks Covid weight) and my 7 year old for snowboarding. Followed the size guide and glad I erred on the side of getting the Youth Small for my kid as he is on the skinny side.5 Stars for the customer commitment by the owner, Keith. Like many other reviewers have said, he is communicative and does what he can to meet customers’ needs. He proactively sent a notice about orders being delayed due to supply issues on the foam pads. I let him know that we had a trip planned and needed the product to arrive on time. He totally delivered. Well worth it to support this business— great service, product and commitment to customers.
