Excellent scale! All steel construction. Only face cover Is plastic. Was wondering why my sausages wasn’t tasting consistent. After testing my old scale, weight varied where meat was placed on scale. Used a 16oz can to test this scale. Even if placing on corners of scale, it still read 1Lb. 🥳 only time will tell durability. I highly recommend this scale!!!!

For years I've wanted a manual scale, one for heavier weights than the digital ones. This one looked like it would do, and it does do. ;)The bottom base piece is metal, the others just plastic. I do wish I could get rid of every bit of plastic in the kitchen, and this comes close.It does NOT look at all cheap, just like ones I recall from butcher shops of yore.The scale could be used for whatever needs weighing, unless complete precision is a requirementI have no idea -- there is none -- of a way to check the accuracy, but it's not expectable that it would be precise as digital, is it?I did put an eight-pound hand weight on it. It measured a little under, maybe only three ounces less, but who knows which was off, the scale or that weight?I am super-satisfied. You know what you want. If it's a neat-o mechanical scale, you should be pleased, too.

I should have read better. I was looking for a scale to weigh water and flour for my sourdough. This weighs by the pound. Would be amazing for a bakery or someone that needs to weigh bigger things. It's beautiful
