Proper fit for 2008 Ford Ranger XLT extra cab w/ 6' bed & 3.0 6cyl engine. Easy to install once you figure out access. You still need the internal piece that this screws to. I also bought more rod clamps (plastic clamps that clamp to the end threads of the rods that pull latch bolts on each side of the tailgate). The screwing and unscrewing get a little tricky and you might need a small hair band (Dollart Tree) to wrap around the spring loaded arms to keep them out of your way. Must do the work in daylight or very well lit garage. Decent quality especially for price.I STILL RECOMMEND that a quick "How-to" sheet (or website intructions) be included with each part to show how to access the internal area of the tailgate for all year models of "Ford Ranger" for which the part is made for.

As expected was advertised as an durable plastic original equipment item and it was, a 15 minute job, looks and functions great. An affordable purchase, I recommend it. Oh did I mention speedy on time delivery.

An all metal design, really easy to install (just don't over torque the mounting bolts/nuts). Looks great and definetly a reasonable price with fast delivery.

I first replaced the handle with an aftermarket plastic piece. After that broke too, I spent a little more to get this metal version. It feels better and is much sturdier, too.

For: 2005 Ford Ranger XLT Extended cab with the rear suicide doors.Fits great. 5 minute project. This new part is built with 2 hooks instead of the single hook for release on the original. Also the hooks are metal and not plastic.Nicely packed arrived on time

It works at a decent price.If mine was original then I expect this to last 17years too. Same or better quality than factory.It was an easy install.I do recommend.

I have a Ford Ranger and have had to replace the tailgate handle twice in the last two years. The model I received from our Ford dealership was a very flimsy plastic one and both broke within a short time. This handle is metal and well built. It installed quickly, fit with no alterations and has worked flawlessly since its installation. A definite home run.

So I called Ford to get a quote on replacing my handle. $50 for the stock plastic handle and $120 for "45 minutes of labor". Well maybe they should hire me, because I was able to replace mine in 15 minutes including the bed liner removal. BUY THIS HANDLE.The biggest failure in the Ford stock handle is that the arms are plastic, mine broke off in my hand (that's probably why you're here too, isn’t it?).This baddie is solid metal with a gorgeous matte finish. A YouTube tutorial will get you on your way, and saving $150 bucks will get you a tank of gas and then some. Only $10 more than the plastic stock handle on Amazon, and you'll never have to replace it.
