You have to remember to bend them inward, towards the inside of the truck or they will get caught between the bed and tail walls when closing the tailgate. Seems obvious but easy to forget. Easy to install and quality product.

Very happy with parts. Also included necessary hardware.One note on install. After install cables tended to poke out of gap between the bed and the gate. I used a hammer and a couple of not too firm taps to put a slight bend in the metal tab. See photo.

Quality is good. For 1 similar part from a chain retail auto parts store in my town it was the same price as this part and it does not come with hardware. Good deal, but the cable is just a bit longer than the factory cable. For that reason my tailgate does not sit level. 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Not a big deal for me but other buyers should be aware of this issue.
