Installed this next to a machine (I'm installing driers at all machines in my shop). I'm on a quest for the driest cleanest shop air ever.. Hopefully this will never need to catch any water with my new cooling system running, but I know that if moisture does get by, this trap will catch it. It's well made and the filter can't let even moist air through.

Installed on one leg of garage PEX style compressed air distribution system. This is on the leg that I use for HVLP gravity sprayers. So far no leaks and I do not expect any. Good volume trap that I can see water after heavy use. That’s good news! It works.

This is a fairly inexpensive air filter with a copper/metal element. It is best suited to eliminating water vapor from the air stream. For oil you usually want a different filter material. I'd pair this with an oil filter if you are using an oil-based compressor. You get a lot of accessories including an on/off valve. These accessories are pretty solid. The unit has decent threading on the input ports and on the main filter chamber. Take the metal guard off and you have easy access to the polymer bowl. The seal is done properly with a gasket, and the threads allow you to really crank it into that gasket. Changing the filter element is easy.

I really love this brand/style of air dryer. They are almost all metal instead of the cheaper plastic models. The only thing i have to say about this one that i didnt quite realize upon ordering is it has no air pressure controller or gauge. This is the first out of 15 or so air dryers i have ordered (i have a large paint and other setup) that does not have this stuff. Thats ok though, it will still come in handy.

Threads are in spec, no leak at the gasket and it traps moisture. Here in Texas I have no shortage of moisture in the air and having this on the output helps a great deal with keeping condensation out of the hose. And it does help to run this between two regulators. I have the compressor output regulator set to 95 psi and the hose regulator at 75. I still get a little moisture but nothing like I did before.
