For those with heavy chewers, it’s quite clear that NO TOY will last for long. It’s about finding one that, once it begins to be torn apart, is not dangerous. This will allow the dog to chew something other than your shoe, rugs or woodwork of the doorframe (all examples we’ve dealt with). We have a 3yo, 80lb American Staffordshire Terrier-border collie mix. He’s a sweet, well-behaved and devoted dog. But just as he’s devoted to our family, he’s devoted to chewing. Constantly. We’ve been through lots of different toys for “extreme†chewers. I’m not a huge fan of the plastic in Nyla products, and get a bit nervous about safety of bones and raw hide. The rubber Kong toys just don’t seem to do it for him. This ring has been the single toy that has lasted more than a week with our guy in terms of both holding his attention and holding together. We probably get a new one every month or two, depending on how much he’s been working on it. Each dog chews differently, and this one seems to hold up better for us than others. It seems to be of good quality, and having been through about a dozen of them, we can say they have a good quality assurance at this company. Of course once chunks or threads come off, you need to cut them off so they don’t get swallowed, or throw the toy away altogether depending on how it is breaking apart. He’s able to make it look pretty ugly in only an hour or two, but we just inspect it to remove any loose bits and let him get back to it. He’s able to use it long after it starts looking rough. Second one I bought since Christmas, they have held up well for my golden retriever. And the German Shepard who typically destroys things in a few weeks, sometimes a few days, has only started wearing it down.

The last one we purchased our pup picked out at a small pet store. He loved the smell and immediately went to town. We figured it was a splurge and it would last a day or two tops. We just purchased a second one a year later and couldn’t recommend it more. Both our dogs are extreme chewers and traditional and “tuff†toys don’t last any longer than a couple of days. This one is more than worth the money.

My Rottweiler loves leather toys which is why I bought this. It was a bit expensive for a single leather dog toy and when it arrived, it seemed a bit smaller than I expected. However, it was much thicker and sturdier than I expected. My dog normally goes through the thin leather toys I get on Amazon at about one per day, but this one lasted a couple weeks.

This chew toy is incredibly durable! Our small but mighty power chewer has been obsessed with it for nearly three years, and we’re just about to replace our fourth one—proof of how much she loves it. It’s not just a chew toy; she uses it for tug-of-war, rolls onto her back while holding it, and enjoys gripping it with her paws thanks to its easy-to-hold circular shape. It’s been her absolute favorite!

My dog has loved these leather chew rings for years, but this one was only 2/3 the size of the others and only half as thick. My dog had destroyed it in a day. Have been noticing discrepancies in the quality of Tall Tails products. I won’t buy one online ever again, only from a local store where I can see if the quality is as it should be

I was looking for a durable chew toy. I have 2 dogs, so I bought two. It seems to be constructed well for chewing dogs; but my dogs will not use it. $50 wasted.

Our dog is a very aggressive chewer and destroys most toys in hours. These Tall Tail Rings last months! Cannot recommend more highly.

This is the best ingredient safe pet toy and eco friendly too, I love the products this company produces. Worth the cost as the product lasts a long time and even stands up to strong chewers. My two border collies are aggressive chewers and love flossing their teeth with the wool and it still lasts months in my house.

This is by far the best dog toy on the market. Hard wearing as stands the test of the beagle. Very happy with this purchase. Bit expensive but it's a natural dog toy that's lasting far longer than any other toy has
