Fun little addition to an acoustic/solo player set up. Only hang up I have with it is that there is no volume control. There is an audible volume increase when the pedal is engaged so you will need to back off the mic a little, practice with it and it will become unnoticeable.

As a vocal compression tool with several reverb settings, this is worth the $100 I paid. Add to that the 'crowd sound' feature that can give the 'We Will Rock You' chorus sound, and it can become really useful for some songs. I had a high-pitch buzzing sound (grounding issue) with my first unit, but the vendor (SweetwaterSound) quickly sent a replacement that works with no issues.My complaint about the design is that the 'crowd-sound' feature fader is too sensitive at the 1/4 on setting. To have more fader control I split the 'crowd-sound' to a different channel and use an additional fader. It also does not come with a power supply, but a generic 9v center-negative unit works for me. I also tried the 4AA battery option which worked fine. I am just a hobbyist and use it for home recording.

I rented this product from a local music gear rental store for over a year when I realized that I use it so much that I might as well purchase it. It has been very influential on the new sound of our latest album. I recommend.

Tried it on a microphone. Just don’t have the sound that the one does that you plug a guitar into. I’m a bass player

This pedal is not natural sounding enough to even be considered useful for most semi pro local bar level gigs. A fun toy for a karaoke setup or home set up. Maybe could get used sparingly integrated into a live sound mix as an effect . But it seems to not true bypass. If some musicians can make this work with their sound good for them but it’s not that high level sounding.

I use the Critical Mass to add a little bit of a crowd effect for a very dead audience. I work at as high school as a technical director, and have used the Critical Mass to help urge the kids on to participate. Not very heavily like in the TC Helicon demo videos, but very subtly. This device adds a little bit of an extra body to the vocals if you have a very quiet audience.

It’s ok, although you need to adjust it properly to get the best result. Unfortunately my device after 3 days , the switching button broke so i need to push it and keep it down! I have no time to send it back so I use it like that! I didn’t push the button so firmly but I don’t know why it broke! That was my chance! But it’s really great ðŸ‘ðŸ»
