I have always used leather belts to hold my pants up but they sometimes cut into waist. We had some left over elastic belts from softball and they are great!. I like the fact that they are basic and blend into the pants I am wearing, not trying to make a statement. Some of my jeans are heavier that others and I can cinch the elastic to fit my needs for the day. I will say for daily use, they do last about a year which is fine-I will be ordering more today for next year. The elastic does get stretched out a bit but it is more the leather closure that starts falling apart in the back.

Color is right for my kid’s uniform and functions as a belt as needed. My only complaint is the end with the holes is not very sturdy. Like Glorified cardboard Instead of strong leather, so it ripped/wore out after one season. This is our second belt.
