Took a chance fixing a broken mini quad.Only used one gear, but it was a direct drop in.(Original was a single speed with auto clutch)Still running perfectly after a summer of hard use.Get the gasket set, oil cooler and high volume oil pump, keep your pit bike, mini quad running forever.

I like the fit and finish of these gear sets. The gear set in the picture is laid out wrong. If you flip either one over you can better see how the gears mesh. I am building a little motor scooter with a 212cc 7.5 HP gasoline engine. A variable diameter pulley belt drive torque converter (Comet Series 30) will provide a 3:1 ratio for low speed starts, and a final ratio of 1.1:1. I want to be able to do a little hill climbing in the boonies, so I am making a two speed final drive box out of the transmission gears. Low gear will give a 2:1 ratio, and high gear will give almost a 1:1 ratio. Since the engine turns CCW, the cylinder is usually pointed towards the rear, but with a gear to gear connection the final output will be reversed, so I can mount the engine with the cylinder head pointing forwards like most commercially built motor scooters and bikes. I can also use the low gear for quicker takeoffs, and the higher gear for cruising at 40 to 50 mph. Essentially, when I am done, I will have a six speed equivalent motor scooter.
