The only thing I found wrong with the kit was that the O-Ring was a little small to fit in the groove of my housing. I tried stretching it a bit but it still wasn't perfect, I was worried about it not sealing and running hot but it seems to be okay. Be forewarned that you will need aircraft gasket sealant or the equivalent marine branded stuff.

I RECD THIS SIERRA WATER PUMP KIT MISSING PARTS WITH ONLY THE METAL HOUSING AND IMPELLER.I ORDERED A KIT TO HAVE IT FOR FISHING TRIP WITH MY SON. NOW NO GASKETS.RUBBER GASKET,METAL BACKING PLATE CAUSE ITS MISSING. REC WITH IMPORTANT ITEMS MISSING?????

Installed on '91 OMC 4.6L Rienell with King Cobra out drive. Simple job, but keeping the gasket in the groove was a pain - slightly off on size and the stretch needed some gasket maker to hold it in... and it had to cure before install.Star rating dropped to 3, kit really needs to come with the plastic housing, on third replacement, housing was damaged, all the housings come in kits, so i have extra parts now.

Impeller is solid rubber; previous versions had a nylon and metal reinforcement for shaft receptacle. We shall see if this impairs durability. Works fine for now after one month.
