I need to start using 1/2 shank router bits for surface cutting wood slabs. The 1/4 cnc router bits are too short for any real work. And I did not want to plunk down hundreds of dollars for yet another router when I have this older, decades old craftmans router that works.The price was worth testing. And it thread fit, tightens the 1/2 shank surface cutter. whew!

This works perfect for my dewalt router. I made a router table and can now use the many 1/2†shank bits.

The only reason this item isn’t getting 5 stars is the nut size on this is smaller than the OEM one BUT it does work all the same

bought a new DeWalt router for woodworking, but it did not come with 1/2" collet. This one works great. Fits exactly right, and just as easy to use as the one that came with the router.

I like that it actually fit my router and I like the price. What I did not like was the quality. I can’t complain because I chose to buy a less expensive cheaper part. Lots of vibration when using longer cutters.
