I use strong magnets to attach to the side of filing cabinets and to steel shelving to hold scissors, case openers, tape guns, paint brush (for dusting) and other regularly used tools to keep them handy. It's so convenient to just grab a tool and replace it without having to open a drawer. They are always within quick and easy reach. My top preference for this is rubber-coated neodymium, but that's expensive and I never seem to have enough. So I thought I'd try these large ceramic magnets. They're not as strong and not as attractive, but they seem to be doing the job for all but the heaviest tools (ex: tape gun). Neodymium might be better, but it's also about 4x the cost. These 8 ceramic magnets are less than the cost of two neodymium magnets, and that's enough to scatter them around without breaking the bank.Keep in mind that ceramic magnets are fragile and can be easily broken if struck hard (but that's also true of neodymium magnets). These ceramic magnets do the job and I'm happy with them. I'll use the more expensive neodymium magnets for heavier tools.

These are crazy-strong magnets. When the package came, there was a warning on it that it contained “magnetized material†and to not ship by air. I’ve never seen that warning before, and I buy a lot of rare-earth magnets. I thought, “Well, what’s up with that?†And then after removing the box of magnets from the shipping box, I set down my box cutter, and from about half a foot away, the still-unopened box of magnets caused the box cutter to spin around. Scary! Now I get the warning! So do use some care with these. But yeah, they’re strong magnets. They have a sort of dirty, gritty, unfinished look to them, so keep that in mind when deciding if they’ll work for your application.

If you have a project requiring a strong magnet or you just want to tack a lot of things to your refrigerator this magnet is for you. The package contained 8 large rectangular magnets. They are a bit dusty, with dark gray powder and somewhat rough in appearance. Instead of the smooth appearance of rare earth magnets, which have become a familiar site, these magnets are ceramic and look more like rough cut metal. They are brittle too and fragments can break off when the magnets slam together.A striking aspect to these magnets is just how dense the magnetic field is and to me the most interesting aspect to these magnets is just how strongly they repel themselves. It was essentially not possible to manually press these magnets together. This gets 4 stars simply because they are too crude in appearance and too brittle to be used in a decorative fashion, as rare earth neodymium magnets are used. These are chunky, strong, industrial magnets and are most suitable for closures, electrical devices (motors / generators) and attachments. So if you have an industrial need for a strong magnet, consider these.

My use case—I have some plastic cable guides that I wanted to stick (via magnet) to file cabinets holding up my desk. I had previously had used some round magnets, but they kept falling off the file cabinet. These new ceramic magnets, while rough-hewn and hefty, are strong enough to stay in place. I used double sided tape to stick on the plastic cable guides and I have been very pleased with the result.

I got these to use as refrigerator magnets, they are very strong and can hold a lot. I only have to use one to hold up two postcards. I imagine that these would work great as replacement bag holders for my sous vide tank as well.

These magnets work great. They have a lot of strength to hold items to a metal surface, but you can still remove them easily from the surface that you afix them to. They are ceramic, so be careful about allowing them to hit each other. I used these to hold a calendar/whiteboard to my refrigerator. They work great.

These magnets are stronger than I expected and they are chunky. They are not as shiny and smooth as the pictures imply, the edges have a burr and can be a little sharp but that is easy to fix if it's important to you. But I buy magnets for what they will hold and these hold well. I needed more surface area than I had on my Neodymium magnets and these fit the bill. No, they are not the same strength but they are strong enough. They came well packaged. I would buy these again.

These magnets are nice. They work great for holding the no parking sign on the side of the garage. The magnets are strong enough to hold a large, no parking sign without ever falling off. They seem to be have a great quality and recommended.
