i bought this more for use as a griddle press and it works beautifully! it's great for a single burger or hash browns (it fits perfectly over two hash brown patties). it's heavy, but not TOO heavy, so it can ensure even browning on whatever it's on. it's a lot easier to use than the cast iron press i also own. i haven't used it to make smashburgers yet, but i know it'll work perfectly for that, too.if i had a complaint, it would be the handle. it's a little wide (and i have big hands) and the edges, while not sharp, are definitely uncomfortable. it would be nice if the handle were a quarter inch narrower, and had either a silicone coating or rounded edges. BUT given that i'm using it on the stove, i always use a glove with it, so it's not a major issue.

Good weight, sturdy and a good diameter. I make breakfast Pattie’s and smash burgers with it. It’s a good buy.Remember, when you smash the patty it will stick when you lift up, let the fat in the burger melt and it comes right off. 10 seconds and you’re free
