This is great. I love it. I always wanted one of these plasma balls as a kid. It has a switch on the side which confused me at first. In the first position the ball responds to audio inputs. Loud sounds and vibration mostly. It will briefly flash or turn on. The markings in the injection molded base are a bit hard to see, so I didn't realize that this wasn't actually "on". This is not a problem with the product, just something to be aware of. The trick is after you click the switch to what you think is the "on" position, you have to click the switch a second time past the first position. This is the real "on" position, and the plasma ball will stay on continuously.The base is very, very lightweight. Don't put this device anywhere it might get bumped because there's no mass to hold it to a surface.Overall an excellent product at an incredibly low price. I love this thing. It's been on a shelf operating continuously since I bought it.

This is a great toy that accents and adds wonder to any kids room. The plasma ball is fun to interact with and watch. The sound/music option is interesting as well but we still with the default ON mode when we use it. For a neat trick you can power a small led light by keeping the contacts near the glass.
