My Labrador used my 30 year old Therm-a-rest as a chew toy. Fortunately I notice before he really got into it. I've tried to use other things to patch it but nothing really worked. This repair kit really worked well.

I used it to repair my thermarest and it worked well, except that the outer clear cover up patch did not stay completely sealed after several backpacking trips. However, no leaks because the inner goo stayed intact. Could be my error in not cleaning the patch site well enough before applying.

Use this to try to plug a leak in a sit pad that is very similar to a therm-a-rest sit pad - i.e., it had a slightly textured surface. Followed the instructions to a T.Still leaks significantly.What I found was that the glue dots are no soft enough to actually really stick to and penetrate the surface even after pressing really hard and trying to smooth it out as best I could before applying the protective patch. AND the protective patch doesn't stick very well either in this kind of surface and just lets the air get right out. I tested my sit pad underwater so know exactly where the air was coming from at the patch.So, if you are trying to patch anything that has any kind of texture to the surface (like most sit pads and many air mattresses do) this is a poor choice.Now I have to remove the patch and sticky glue and use another patch kit that uses a liquid glue that will soak into the fabric + a much stickier patch (like tenacious tape).

I am a wildland firefighter and I spent most of my summer sleeping in a tent with my klymit sleeping pad. Early on in the season my pad got punctured and I had to try and fix it. Before I left I purchased these because the reviews were good and the glue dots included work instantly. No waiting for 24 or 12 hours for it to set. With little time to find and fix the puncture with all the fires in Idaho this past summer I was able to apply the patch and immediately inflate the pad and go to bed. It really saved me because at the end of a long day getting some good rest is everything. Not only did it help me initially but my pad has had zero problems with the patch. I slept on it an additional 60+ times since I installed it and it doesn’t leak one bit. The only issue is the adhesive cover for the glue dot is no longer sticking to the pad (most likely because it’s on a curved surface) so the edges of the glue dot have accumulated some dirt but it doesn’t affect the seal at all. Next summer I will be able to continue to test the ability of the dot and update the review but as of right now it is a no brainer for anyone looking for a quick and simple fix to insure you won’t be sleeping on the ground and to protect you investment on your sleeping pad.(Forgot to update but my pad did not leak at all for another entire season. Woke up every morning with my pad as inflated as it was 8 hours prior. Very durable and reliable repair. 11/10)

After reading several reviews for different products, I decided to use this “field repair†product instead of another option. I patched a small, abraided tear near the center of a 30 inch pad. Followed directions carefully, cleaned with alcohol and dried fully. The patches seem to take completely And I have had six sleeps on it since with no issues.

Si el área de reparación es más grande que un punto de pegamento, utilice tantos puntos como sea necesario, superponiéndolos hasta llenar el área de reparación.4.- Después de pegar bien el punto de pegamento, retire lentamente la pelÃcula de protección, tratando de no levantar el punto de pegamento.Aplicando el parche transparente1.- Retire el papel protector de un parche autoadhesivo.2.- Coloque el lado adhesivo del parche hacia abajo en el centro de la reparación, presionando suavemente el centro con el pulgar. Fixed our 'shiny' cover thermarests fine. Didn't need glue dots, just patch straight on. According to the thermarest website this kit isn't suitable for the textured fabric type of thermarest.

The ONLY tricky part is peeling the clear 'patch' off of the white paper. But the glue dots are awesome, much more effective and easier to use than the old hot melt glue.
