I needed thicker steel toreally take some abuse and hold heavy welds. This did great.

I purchased 2 of these plates. While the 10†x 10†size is correct, the thickness is .224, not .250 as specified. One of the pieces has been welded and ground down. I did not expect either of these variations and I cannot use these for my purpose. The add should specify “for welding practice only†and “thickness is approximateâ€.

Ordered two 10â€x10†sheets of 1/4†steel. That’s what I got. Slight film of oil to prevent rusting wrapped in plastic.

FALSE DESCRIPTION ON THICKNESS. Actual material thickness is .224 inches. The length and width (10" x 10") were true. I kept it anyway because full thickness was not a critical measure for me. But if you need the full .25 inch thickness, this will not work for you.
