I'm really grateful for this shikibuton mattress cover. I was really excited about the fact that it is Oeko- Tek as my skin is pretty sensitive. I am considering either getting a Japanese futon mattress or stacking up the mattress toppers and putting either option into this cover I find shikibutons to be the best priced option I can find for alternative mattresses. Therefore, this cover is a start… So far, I absolutely love the feel of the material. I can tell that it's made with natural fibers. Of course, it's absolutely as gorgeous as the pictures. The front has a bumpy texture to it, and the backing is even more bumpy. It has a bit of a sweet smell to it. I think the reason for this bumpy like material is that it will let the side of the futon resting on the floor breathe as well is giving it a good grip on a tatami mat.. I find that the zipper is in the center back of the futon cover The backing material is a bit thin and mesh- like. it makes me wonder if I will want to consistently unzip it everyday to air out the futon. I have yet to get a Japanese futon mattress, but from all of my research I do know that many people prefer to sun them and air them daily. I think I might go with the option of leaving it unzipped, It's frustrating, because it will take away from the added protection in the back. Pros: gorgeous, well thought out, Oeko-Tek, excellent grip. Cons: zipping and unzipping does not seem easily done on the regular..

At first I was very happy with the quality of this mattress cover. The thickness of the top fabric was really comfortable and the look of the cute whale design was appealing. However after less than 3 weeks use, I realized the fabric was composed of something like nylon in women’s stalkings. Any little thing was snagging the fabric and causing it to run. It’s also pilling a lot! Photos provided for reference.

This is absolutely gorgeous. It's very easy to wash and maintain. Holds shape and color amazingly well.

I was really excited to get this cover as it advertised cooling fabric. The fabric is beautiful but not cooling which is what I was looking for. I do appreciate the beauty of it but the cooling fabric makes a huge difference and has a silky texture that I love! That said there s some s unique and well crafted and the design is very calming.

I love this futon cover! It's thick, feels like a high-quality couch, and the whales are absolutely adorable. It's also got rubber polka-dots on the back, so it stays in place on the couch frame much better than before! And did I mention it's washable?!

I got the floor futon that this goes to and I'm thankful that I got this as well. At first, I was just going to use a twin sheet to cover it, but this caught my eye. It zips in the back and helps the floor futon hold its thickness. Some, when used, will feel as though they "thin out" and won't be as comfortable. So far, this cover has helped keep that from happening.It was easy to get on the floor futon, much like a snug-fitting pillowcase. I haven't had to wash it yet, as I've only had it for about a week. The colors are nice and mellow too. Oddly enough, the blues go well with the color of my walls. I highly recommend this.
